Why did Obama go full-in on "racial identity politics"?

Did he not anticipate the reaction from Americans who don't identify as being part of a "Democrat recognized pet identity group full of grievances", or did he just not care and used it for his personal gain? Is there any going back now that the "American" bond is broken and the parts separated?

The Democrats thought Bush and the Iraq War had destroyed the GOP for the next 20+ years.

They went all out on a big push to change everything.

But they got stalled hardcore. 2 years of a black president and Democrats started losing power.

Lost the house in the midterms. Lost the Senate a couple years after that.

They'll continue losing. It will take another dramatic loss and the rise of a third party for them to make a serious attempt to fix their problems.

I voted for him because I thought a mixed race president would work to solve race relations. He just made them worse and picked me to the far right. Thanks obama, I'm a better person now.

He probably thought he could import enough illegals and break the spirit of white people enough to send America careening to being a Peoples Republic.

Thankfully he and his allies were a little too obvious and weren't able to gain full control of thr judiciary like they needed. So instead he turned a vast amount of the American white population irrevocably rightward as a defense against what they saw as the destruction of their future.

I can't tell you how many white people, including their wives and girlfriends, I've come across that have started going almost full 14/88 once we've tested the waters enough to trust each other

At this point I wonder what good anyone on the left thinks shareblue would do. Most everyone in comment sections and message boards online now are extremely partisan to the point of being immovable. I'm not sure what good they think shilling will do. Either they preach to the choir or get crucified.
