When did it become hard for you to find something good to watch?

When did it become hard for you to find something good to watch?

After i started noticing and appreciating quality.

There is so little that gets me excited nowadays, i feel nothing looking at anime anymore.

When you start watching good stuff. It becomes incredibly hard to watch shit anime after that.

These

If I had watched SAO a few years younger, I'd be defending that shit like my virtual dauteru's life depended on it. Now I feel like I completely wasted my time and would be better off not watching anime with that much hype

When you start noticing and appreciating quality, it's time to move on to another medium. Try books. Or movies. There's a lot to catch up on.

But i ended up in anime from leaving those.

I've seen 600 anime and it hasn't yet.

When my taste in anime derived into:
1. Cute girls doing cute things
And
2.Dark thriller anime with a modern setting.

I find something to enjoy in most anime I watch, even the really bad ones. I think as long as you're interested enough in anime to be able to care about the individual elements of the production, you can have a good time with just about anything.

I guess you haven't found taste yet.

I'm kinda new and have no idea what to watch

More like I've learned to stop caring about taste and just enjoy whatever various things have to offer. Not everything needs to be a 10/10 masterpiece in all categories.

When I started reading manga and realised 80% of the seasons are just shit adaptations of manga I just read. The rest is isekai light novel adaptations which are shit. The last little bit I pay attention to are the original works which are in the hit and miss category and honestly gurren lagann was the last great original work I've seen.

No, but if you enjoy solid 2s in all categories then you need to step the fuck up.

If you have trouble finding anime that are above 2s then you either just don't like anime to begin with or you must have seen thousands.

>gurren lagann
>not manga

> 80% of the seasons are just shit adaptations of manga I just read
Wow, you must read a lot of manga in both English and moon.
> The rest is isekai light novel adaptations
You what? There are like two isekai LNs adapted a year.
>Gurren Lagann
>great
Now that's just too much.

Probably 2 months after I started watching anime. Just got harder and harder from there. Now I just watch seasonal stuff.

It's not based on a manga.
Well, unless you're trying to say something snarky about it and Getter Robo.

Never. And I've been watching anime for 20 years.

It's hyperbole. Not literally. I just realised that a lot of the shows I consider would make the season great just happened to be the manga I started reading. So I end up not watching them. But yes I do read a shit ton of manga.

You can have your opinion on gurren lagann. It's a gem in the barren wasteland of good original anime works

>Wow, you must read a lot of manga in both English and moon.
Actually, on that topic, has anyone noticed that fucking CR is translating a ton of manga that then get anime recently? Do they have some information exchange going about what's going to get adapted?

Probably, money is the greatest superpower.

No it's just that it's easier to adapt an anime than create an original. Any decently popular manga is going to get adapted and obviously cr would pickup manga that has some sort of traction.

After I finished Mushishi

>Any decently popular manga is going to get adapted
If only.

It's mostly true. It's just not a fact of life.

Remember when Watamote was animated because Sup Forums loved it?

This happened to me with movies. Then TV shows. So I moved on to anime. Happened quickly.

>Any decently popular manga is going to get adapted
I don't think you understand how many more manga there are than anime.

Did it put you to sleep for so long that you became overwhelmed by the amount of anime and manga now available to you making it hard to decide on a show to watch?

>Any decently popular manga is going to get adapted
It's not nearly this simple, and you should realize that with a little thought, come on. It depends on the publisher's size/willingness to fund anime, and the content's suitability for an anime audience.

>content's suitability for an anime audience.
Remember a few years back when EVERY FUCKING ANIME was an ecchi slice of life that started with MC running into and knocking down a girl in a way that ensured that he either grabbed their tits or dove right into their pussy?

>A few years back

>EVERY FUCKING ANIME
No, I don't, and I'm also not quite sure what you're trying to get at here. Be a bit clearer?

I think he's upset that all the hentai he's downloaded all starts the same way. Its possible he's been watching the same batch of five since 2004.

Welcome to Sup Forums, i see that you are new to anime.

The author is a master storyteller. I had read the comic and it was lit. It doesnt even need overarching arcs to tell a very good story. Sakii was also good

Seems like you're the new one, or else you only watch a few shows a year and assume the rest are all like that. Unless you want to specify a single season where everything was like you're talking about?

Yea a master bedtime storyteller to put baby shit user to sleep

I don't think and are new to Sup Forums.

This is the first time I have ever seen someone describe Mushishi as "lit." It's a strange feeling.

Around the time of 2007-2009.
You know, around the time you started school.

It became easier for me actually. I just got over my pretentious young adult phase and now I can just enjoy more things.

When i found what i truly liked in an anime

alcohol tends to destroy that though ive watched some stupid shit while drunk its nice

>specify a single season
>around these three years
Apparently you never finished school.

Goddamn you're faggy. Seriously, read that back in context and encapsulate in your mind how faggy that post was.

Yeah it also cured my insomnia ;^)

That happened to me too but I'm back to not enjoying derivative crap. I just can't suspend my criticisms anymore. Anime likes lot of other mediums is just swamped in shit.

I feel like Ive just become so jaded from watching so many awful shows that when something interesting finally comes around it doesn't make me excited anymore.

Yeah, I sure remember ecchi SoL such as Lucky Star, Gurren Lagann, Dennou Coil, Darker than Black, Seirei no Moribito, Baccano, Afro Samurai, SZS, Hidamari, etc.

Your inexperience is glaring me in the face like i triggered the entire gamergate, just trying to talk shit to me because you have to.

Now. Lately.

But I know I still have tons of interesting if not good things to watch, for example Boogiepop Phantom or Shigofumi, but I can't get into them.

Instead I'm binging through shit like Death Parade or Re:Zero, what the hell?

I will help you. Go watch Boku no Pico

Never but I've been a casual for 15 years

I started watching RE:Zero and I'm starting to enjoy anime again. In the last 5 years anime has been shit.

When I realized that I'm too weak minded to watch anything with cute girls or a romance plot because I get attached too easily. I'm trying to stay clear but there are ALWAYS romance plots...

Around the middle of last year I started noticing that I kept reorganizing my scores bumping shows further and further down.
Around the start of this year I started noticing more and more anime were scoring 6s and 7s, which would bump down some other anime to 4s or 3s but not provide anything I really loved.
Then I finally started dipping into the bigger franchises I had been ignoring until now like Monogatari so I could get some really great anime again.

Y'all just getting old and have limited interests, nothing to do with anime itself.

A week after getting back into anime.
I kid, I can find something good to watch all of the time, I also save decent to good shows for later when I need a fix. All has been well and I've seen about 400 series, not seasons mind you. I'm pretty new at this.

...

Sorry I don't understand niggerspeak.

For whatever reason when it comes to TV shows there's always a bit of me worried that I'll just be wasting my time. It's exclusively TV shows too, I'm willing to start video games and movies and books and VNs as soon as I think it'll interest me, but shows are the only things that feel like they're going to be massive time-sinks.

Get gud faggot.

That is because you are a faggot that cannot pay attention at all.

now
watching Psycho Mob for the artwork and Saiki for the humor but otherwise it's pretty barren out there

Maybe. I think that's more about my current state of mind than being a faggot.

The manga Berserk spoiled me and raised my standards.

Here is (You)r first (You).

When i was 17. I can't stand the 99% of the Shounens today.

What is this and why it looks like crap

Since I read Umineko.

Nothing has the scale or the depth that that 100 hour VN does.

What are the ones you can stand other than fma:b?
I tried that and finished it but it was sorely lacking to me. I really want to watch a good shounen though :(

Does Cowboy bebop count as Shounen?
Hunter x Hunter is good enough but the chimera ant arc was in my opinion soooo unnecessarily long...
Claymore is also decent but the manga is just superior. Same with Berserk.

I honestly can't stand other shounens..Maybe i'm just getting old

Ok, thanks.
I guess I have to finally give hxh a shot.
