No matter how inflated his ego may or may not be from having the most financially lucrative currently running manga or fame and dosh out the ass, Oda's been in the biz long enough to have seen dozens of talented mangakas sputter out and lose their series, even ones more gifted than he himself, because of editorial bullshit, or just a few wrong moves of storytelling
