What an ending.

Hopefully never you moron.

>being this autistic
Did you forget your ritalin today little boy?

Never. It's finished, there's nothing to promote.

Honestly I didn't like the way it ended to much.

I wanted something darker, but we got a generic happy ending.

The first book was top tier though.

they want to lower suicide rates, not raise them

>Mooooooom I posted a thread on Sup Forums but no one liked it ;_;

>I wanted something darker

Is that a webnovel?
Do you recommend this?

no
yes

MAL likes it a lot but I thought it was pretty trash. It's an LN.

Why did this sell like shit?

>Anime when?

Probably never.

Non-original anime is usually made as promotion for the source material, and this series is already finished, not to mention it's not popular and sold like shit.

>sold like shit
Was it so bad?

What would you use your box for anons?

It's an LN that happens to be great.

I'd highly recommend it.

Make me a cute immortal eternally young little girl.

It's not SAO.

It sold like shit because japs have shit taste and preferred to buy garbage like Yahari.

what's the story? mc gets ntred by old goddess?

It seems to be shit from the cover user-san.

Yeah. The author took too long between volumes, and most of its followers got tired of waiting and forgot about it.

And also the author has a weird writing style and people didn't like it that much. He stopped writing LN after finishing hakomari.

That's only natural coming from an idiot like yourself. You should probably look elsewhere.

Guy likes his daily life a bit too much

Lots of suffering and then happiness followed by even more suffering with a side of suffering and then finally a happy ending.

>Literally judging a book by its cover.

Start reading the first volume and see if you like it:

baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Utsuro_no_Hako:Volume_1

Is this like Re Zero?
I might read it if so.

master ruseman strikes again

better, in my opinion

First volume and a later volume certainly are.

Please don't compare this to shit:zero. This is literally one of the few pieces of literature that came out of nipland that actually had an interesting story.

It starts off strong, but loses the strength of the original premise partway through. Could have been amazing, ended up being a solid 7/10.

I imagine it'll be getting an anime soon enough. The anime will probably be top three of the season, and the threads will be awful.

It's probably never getting an anime. The popularity is overblown in the west, in Japan it's only moderately popular.

Eh, I doubt it's ever getting one. It's a solid 6/10, but that's just not enough.

Whoa, if it's better than re:zero with the same thematic then I'll give it a try.
Thank you anons.

A rare example of a modern japanese story that's genuinely well-written and engaging.

I hope it never gets an anime because they'd botch it.

>solid 6/10
Since you didn't want to elaborate on that (you probably aren't even capable) do provide a few examples on what you consider better. I'm very interested to hear.

I'm not sure why you're getting so defensive, user. Enjoy what you like and let others have their own opinions.

I'm just interested to hear what you consider better.

Too scared?

Re:Zero is blowing up on sales. I just assumed someone else was eventually going to greenlight an anime as something with a vaguely similar plot and narritive trickery mechanic (plot revealed through subsequent loops). My guess would be Winter 2017.

Spoilers would be everywhere and would ruin anime only enjoyment.

For fun though, what studio would be able to adapt it well?

Volume 1 is a legitimate 10/10

Volume 2 is a solid 7/10

Volume 3 is a mediocre 5/10. Way too much exposition.

Volume 4 is an improved 7/10

Volume 5 is a great 9/10

Volume 6 is a great 9/10

Volume 7 is a legitimate 10/10

What a cutie! What's the story?

>what studio would be able to adapt it well?
None.

If I were forced to pick, I'd say Satellite.

re zero 2 electric boogaloo.

Nice, but I would change vol 2 and vol 3 ratings.

Vol 2 is only there to "develope" Maria and Kazuki's relationship, but the box and how they solve the mystery is really stupid.

I honestly think this would work better as an anime than an LN. I think the plot was pretty good but the writing style of the LN felt incredibly boring and monotone.

>Utsuro no Hako tells the story of Kazuki Hoshino, who is almost madly attached to his everyday life, and his antagonist Aya Otonashi, who suddenly transfers into his class—for the 13,118th time. She majestically announces to “break” him, without paying heed to anyone else around them.
>This is but the start of a dark roller coaster ride that turns the two against themselves, the people around them and the one who may be god. Read on as their relationship slowly changes and they go against their most basic values in their struggle against the world itself.

It would work better as a visual novel, just saying.

Maybe someone will see that potential with this but I doubt it, it is quite a risk. Though Re:Zero barely sold 1k before the anime aired and now it's selling millions so who knows.

If an anime was made it would probably be best presented as films like Kara no Kyoukai though.

>but the box and how they solve the mystery is really stupid
Care to go into further detail? I thought volume 2 was pretty good even if it didn't reach the heights of the series' best.

Volume 3 was a bore. Too many characters brought in, too many rules and the resolution was really unsatisfying. At least volume 2 had a tight sense of focus.

Nah.

Did anyone else feel like the student council bitch joining up with Daiya so easily felt a bit weird? I kinda thought shed put up a bit more resistance to it but she ended up just going along with him.

Kek

Nah, mind break is a hell of a drug.

This series is 10/10 enjoyment for me.

>series is finished

NEVEREVER

It was quite obvious who the bad guy was from the beginning, and then just went and explained how their box works like it was nothing.

And Maria being able to recognize Kazuki magically is kinda dumb too. I don't think you can know someone that much.

Is it romance?

It doesen't really have the sales to support a big tentpole production, but it's not a big enough risk to shove off to some low tier studio's C-string team. Probably a mid-tier studio's A-team then.

My guess would be Madhouse or Lerche. Madhouse has been taking some stabs at adaptations recently, and this seems squarely in line with pretty much everything else Lerche has had any success with.

Why not make a sequel then?

eventually, albeit a very strange and unconventional one

Yeah but not the main focus.

Parasyte.

Somehow yeah, and there's even a yandere male, which is very rare.

How the fuck would that even work given that 0 is gone?

>male
>yandere
Worst combination ever

Don't listen to that faggot. Labeling him a yandere does a great disservice to how well written the character is.

How did it end? I read it when the last volume was taking forever but I remember almost nothing about it and have no intention of re-reading.

BANG BANG BANG

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

BANG

Concept for the final volume was fine but the prose and execution were lackluster compared to the previous volumes. Would have been much better animated than how it came out written.

>tfw we will never get Maria fanart

>that scene where maria has a cold and hoshino is nursing her

Shit gave me diabeetus.

Best scene, I wish there were more moments like this.

Did anyone went through a longer time loop than the MC?

Id really love to have gotten more of them simply interacting in their day to day lives, enjoyed what bits we got to see of em like that though.

Yeah they were short but really sweet, I even shed a few tears after finishing that wedding part at the end.

Will Eiji Mikage ever write again?

I feel you man, some didn't like how it ended but I was quite content seeing them end up happy after all the bullshit they went through. Probably the thing I enjoyed most is the range of emotions the author managed to elicit from me, hope he continues writing as id like to get on another wild ride with him.

Is it well translated?

Yea the TL is pretty good, didn't really notice any glaring issues with it.

Best love story ever told.

...

He never stopped. His latest one was about a bunch of idols who were locked into a room and livestreamed, so people could watch them, find their favorites and vote who will live.

...

>it's popular on MAL
>ranked above oyasumi punpun, monster and kingdom
What a joke. Into the trash it goes.

You guy know about his tweet regarding MAL right? :^)

>ふと思い立ってMyAnimeListを見てみたが「空ろの箱と零のマリア」がノベル部門で相変わらず一位だったぜmyanimelist.net/topmanga.php?type=novels … マンガの括りでも全体二位。母国でももっと人気出るべき! クールジャパンの戦略に組み込み、ハリウッド映画化すべき!

Too bad for him and the popularity, but the Japs have superior taste compared to some normalfaggots on mal.

You can't be serious because all the manga you mentioned is inferior to Hakomari.

Never seen MAL lists before but why is 20th century boys so high? did they not get to the part where it shits the bed?

>he tweeted about MAL
Translation: So I happened to look at MyAnimeList and in the top novels section Utsuro is first as usual. Even included in the "all manga" section it's still second place. It should really have more success at home. Were it part of the Cool Japan strategies, it could make a Hollywood movie.

>but the Japs have superior taste compared to some normalfaggots on mal
Not really. I'm not defending MAL, but that's a really weeaboo opinion to have.

>Were it part of the Cool Japan strategies, it could make a Hollywood movie
What did he mean by this? Or is this a shit translation?

>Cool Japan
Not him but just google that.

>muh manga is ranked lower than a light novel
You're retarded

How many more of his novels are translated?

I just want a YP lic instead of an anime.

How does this compare to Endless 8, Re:Zero and Higurashi ni Kai?

Speaking of LNs

In Nobuna, why is Kanbei such a shit and a traitorous?

Madhouse should animate this.

It's overrated like SAO LN before adaptation to be honest.
