Intensive dairy farming is draining the fuck out of our rivers and many aquifers are almost beyond fixing. The farm runoff contaminates the fuck out of the rivers and grows huge amounts of shitty algae.
We have a big agricultural industry (its fucking cool and its great work if you live in the country when you're studying, outside work is great for the soul).
Unfortunately our farmers haven't really had any real regulatory help in not fucking up the environment. They routinely over-graze the land, over fertilize the land, and allow livestock in and around waterways.
The combination of fertilizer runoffs and cows shitting in the rivers makes them fucking disgusting, and devastates the natural and native lifeforms living in them. I've seen with my own eyes one of my previous bosses letting the cows shit in the local stream. I asked him if we should fence it off (not even an investment fence, just electric tape) and he said nah she'll be right. That stream was fucking disgusting within a few years.

More or less man, its looking really positive in terms of immigration and environment That said there are a few ways they can fuck it up, the socialists will want big economic reforms and the economy will take a hit for it. Any one of the three parties can pull the rug out from the coalition and fuck it all up at any time, so its going to be an interesting few years.
