I am leaning towards the second one. I deactivated my account a couple weeks ago and it has been nice, but I've been wondering if it is bad to run away from social media?

You have to redpill people directly. You can't do it through an indirect medium like facebook. At best you can post very tame news stories that might wake someone, but you have to do it very matter of factly and without commentary.
