Barragan might even be able to kill various quincies here with his power. Fire would burn out, iron would rot, etc. His death was actually somewhat logical in the sense that he would need some protection against his own powers. It's like if any superhero who can light themselves on fire (i.e. Human Torch) instantly burned to death.
