First they will se how is going to do independence people, later if the situation is normalized they will keep as always do, however they wont return until the elections are done and the "independence" risk is gone.
Also if the independence keep trying to force things even more business will fled

II Republic is created in 1931 by lefties and they win the elections too
Right wing parties win the next election
Commies are really mad at this so they decide to organize a general strike and a nationwide revolution to bring the right wing government down.
Autistic catalonian governor decides to announce the creation of a catalonian state inside of a iberian federal republic (the existing republic was not federal).
He wasn't really declaring independence, he was trying to trigger the creation of another new republic where conservative policies could not exist. But catacuck independentists like to think that it was an attempt to secede from Spain
Nathan King
Catalan president Lluís Companys declared independence during the Second Spanish Republic, he and his cabinet were arrested and imprisoned and the autonomy of Catalonia was revoked and the central goverment of Spain took over. Pretty similar to what is happening these days really.
Jaxon Bennett
The regional president declared the independence during the Republic.
The Republican army walked down the street from their headquarters and stormed the regional government’s building that night.
Politicians and their guards fled. The people of Catalonia did not provide them shelter and so they were eventually arrested.
