In terms of local elections, I think blue states will coalesce around Democrats. For example I'm pretty sure my home state of Washington will flip to Democrat majority for state Senate (right now it's Republican majority by one seat)
Swing states will probably coalesce around more progressive or centrist candidates as well.
My own district WA-3 is represented by an absolute shit show of a Representative, Jamie Herrera-Beutler. She sucks. Suuuucks. Skips work almost as bad as Rubio, votes against constituent wishes. Chickens out and votes "present" a lot of the time.
Meanwhile, Portland is fucked in terms of housing prices. The gentrification is causing a massive flood of minorities and lower income families to move here. (We have better schools, lower taxes, cheaper housing in nicer homes, lower crime etc)
So we could flip. Pretty easily. But the DNC and DCCC just don't see the potential and refuse to fund opponents. Honestly it's not even a matter of R vs D, I'll vote for Republicans if they're better candidates. I'm voting Republican for mayor of Vancouver this week for example. He's the better choice.
But Jamie Herrera-Beutler sucks. And yet she'll win in November 2018 I'm sure of it. Hopefully not. But it's discouraging.

I don't want to give that up though, and "privilege" implies something extra, a treat, gravy or dessert. You typically lose privileges for bad behavior or economic struggle. I don't want to give up my "not-getting-beaten-up-by-cops" privilege if I run from them. I just don't want cops to feel empowered to beat up impoverished black teens because who gives a fuck.
Using the term "privilege" is rooted in classic neoliberalism and is dangerous syntax. I saw a lot of white liberal hippies protesting in Ferguson get their 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th amendment privileges checked. And the feds certainly checked Lavoy Finicum's 2nd, 5th and 8th amendment privileges didn't they.

I used to work in a social services office. I saw a lot of people make more excuses than plans.
That's not to say though that our system isn't designed to profit off of oppressing the poor (this transcends race and population centers), and make education and healthcare simpler and more hassle free for wealthy.
I grew up in a fucking trailer, busted my ass off to get a dank job in the data sciences. God damn was there a lot of hurdles getting here. Unnecessary hurdles. Pointless hurdles.
When I was poor and smoked weed or had a taillight out it was terrifying. Today it's no big deal.
