Thought I don't have a problem with the idea of "equal under the law", but this idea that everyone is born equal is easily debunked. When I was finishing high school I realized that some people are born retarded and deformed and thus not equal, and are asians truly the smartest, all of the ones around me got the highest grades and all wanted to go into a STEM field. I still sorta believe in egalitarianism in the sense that no one person's life is inherently more "valuable" than another's. Obviously things like IQ averages and physical strength vary among races, though.

They're all going to think differently - depending on the state they're not even going to get the same laws. You're fooling yourself if you think they're going to get the same outcome.
Moreover, an intelligent defendant will try to pick the best lawyer who will help pick the best jury, and the former will depend on how much money he has - even in the legal sense, there is no such thing as equality.
