in:
The "Divines" or what they're called decide that in order to bring faith to humanity, they need a relic that teaches "Words of Prayer". Then they decide that the Type 95 Elinium Orb should become that Relic and contact the Doktor.
then in
the Divine basically tells Tanya that the Orb forces her to recite these "Words of Prayer" when she's using its "Miracle".
So she's using it to get through the war, because it is powerful, but she is forced to pray to use it.
