US just deployed THREE aircraft carriers to the east pacific for the first time in recent history. Joined by their fleets, this virtual armada is composed of nuclear submarines, destroyers, and missile cruisers.

Navy vet here.

Never seen this before. That's a LOT of firepower. I've seen two carriers in the Persian Gulf, but never three.

Usually, a carrier group consists of the carrier, 2-3 cruisers, 3-4 destroyers, and 2 attack submarines.

Now multiply that by three.

Also, I'm sure there's probably 1-2 ballistic missile submarines (boomers) that carry the Trident SLBM nuclear missiles. They're different from the attack submarines, but I'm sure they have them lurking in the area.

Like I said, I'm a Navy vet and I've never see something like this before.
