Euphonium

Some guy I know told me the source material has little to no yuri, and that KyoAni added it all just to make money. Is this true?

Should I get this for my bathroom

Yes. Like most LNs the source material is garbage.

KyoAni's always take different approaches with their adaptions.

Yeah, pretty much.

No, the novels have yuri. Especially the second one.

>source material has little to no yuri,
I heard Kyoani toned it DOWN in the show?

Haruhi.

Novels have more yuri. Kyoani toned it down a lot.

yep, it's true. black hair loves the music teacher and wants to make babies with him, sexyhair loves childhood friend in a tsuntsuntsundere way, and wants to make babies with him... BAKAAA!

you know the whole tone of the mountain date? there's something similar to this but instead of reina touching kumiko's face (pic related) she snaps her panties

Reina also didn't wear any panties during their date. She knew there would be some hot yuri action during that night.

No, in the threads when the show was airing novelanons were always transcribing these super yuri scenes from the books. Like I remember there was some scene where Kumiko and Reina were sitting on a staircase or something and Kumiko was describing how hot Reina was and they started touching on each other and shit. I don't remember if it was cut or if it was in a later book.

The childhood is one-sided on the male's part. Going by the current adaption.

Novels had more adolescence, KyoAni turned it into yuri.

I don't believe you.

>implying Kumiko wears panties

She's natural born slut.

>yuri
>money

Reina stared silently into Kumiko’s eyes, and before long she had softly slid her hands around Kumiko’s arm. The rolled up shirt cuffs exposed her smooth, white skin. It was arousing, but not in an obscene way. Kumiko averted her gaze. Sweat raced down her countenance and glazed her collarbones. With steamy red cheeks, Reina timidly felt Kumiko’s hand.

“Kumiko,”

was all she said as she suddenly embraced Kumiko. Kumiko became flustered as she felt a soft sensation through her clothes. Reina wrapped her hands tightly around Kumiko. Kumiko’s hands shook as she timidly put her own hands around Reina’s back. “Kumiko,” she repeated. Hearing Reina say her name put Kumiko at a loss for words, so she just slowly caressed Reina’s back. She could feel Reina’s backbone through her uniform. As she did so, her fingers got stuck where Reina’s underwear was.

“Do you think I’m wrong?”
“I don’t think so.”
“For real?”
“Yeah.”
“I see,”

Fine then. After replying, she buried her face into Kumiko’s shoulder. Her long, silky hair flowed behind her. It seemed as if nothing could possibly shine a light on Reina. They stayed like this for a while, but Reina eventually let go as if she had gotten her fill of Kumiko. Her cheeks were still red when she went over to the stairs and sat down. “Hurry up, sit.” Kumiko did as she was asked and sat down next to her. She had stepped on Reina’s skirt, but Reina did not seem to mind. Her soft-looking thighs peeked out from under her dark blue skirt. “

Hey umm, would you care to listen to what I have to say?”

Removed from the anime

p-picked up

Super gay.

>yuri
>make money

>trolls trolling trolls
I knew this site would eat itself one day.

...

People really don't understand how LNs are just softporn.

Anime is way less lewd, they removed the dick sucking scene in Sekai Yori

This meme must die out.

>LNs
They're not LNs

I didn't read the books, but I think there are some canon yuri couples in the second volume. Reina x Kumiko is not one of them though

You actually know people that know more about anime other than Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Ghibli, and other shounen trash? That's....that's all I want in my life.

Trust me, you don't.

That looks kind of interesting, I'd give it a shot, though I doubt they had anything really meaningful to say.

...

>turns out there's no yuri in the supposedly yuri novel

Yuri will conquer the Earth they said.

The author has claimed that it's just "adolescence," much to the chagrin of KyoAni who needs those precious yuribux.

>he doesn't know

How is it not yuri?

It's clearly the "strong emotional bonds between girls before they move on and get boyfriends" Class-S yuri.

Most westerners associate "yuri" with "softcore lesbian pornography/drama." In reality most yuri is just gross gay relationship shit that no one wants to watch.

I'm aware.

While my post was mostly in jest, you couldn't be more wrong.

Several authors have mentioned that there is this certain ambiguity when it comes to depicting yuri. Tomo-chan's author thinks that yuri is best when it's a "maybe friends, maybe more" kind of relationship. The director of Cross Ange said that he wasn't trying to depict yuri, despite having numerous lesbians on the cast. And most tellingly, in the same interview that everyone gets Yamada's "adolescence" from, Ishihara explicitly stated that boys only really like "bubbly, chuckly" yuri. And of course, there are several artists who think that yuri should focus explicitly on romantic relationships between girls.

Evidently, it's clear that yuri means a lot of different things to a lot of different Japanese people as well. Yuri is, frankly, a meaningless term these days, on par with likes 'fujoshit', which ranges from boys looking at each other to boys having gay sex. Honestly, we should just keep yuri in it's current jargon state and just use GL for the explicit lesbian works like fujoshi do with yaoi and BL.

Euphonium isn't really a LN though.

>kyakya~ufufufu
Pisses me off every time I read it.

Neither is Shin Sekai Yori for that matter.

Any weeb worth his salt deifies his waifu, and will have no other false idols before her.

>people will believe this

isn't the anime hetshit too how is it yuri?

>not liking きゃあきゃあうふふ
Gets the main image across quite well.

Checked.

>hetshit
literally >>>/tumblr/

Reina literally outright states that she loves a man

Adolescence

Honestly, anyone can use that term.

Adolescent crush that'll likelihood go nowhere.

"Hazuki-chan's been like that for a while now."

Sapphire lowered her voice as she responded.
"She's going to the festival with the person she likes today. And she's planning to confess to him."

"Oh man, youth on full display! Gives me heartburn just hearing about it!"
Natsuki's face clearly twisted. Her voice was pretty loud, but Hazuki gave no reaction. Somehow, she couldn't hear a thing.

That "person she likes" was no doubt Shuuichi. Doing her best to turn her attention away from the conversation, Kumiko let out a small sigh. She felt a little sick. As if something in her stomach was bubbling up, a muddy sort of feeling began to well up inside her. And as if it was able to course though every one of her veins, the feeling began to spread throughout her body. In something of an attempt to cool the fever that had accumulated in her fingertips, Kumiko gripped her euphonium tightly. I don't like this. I really don't. She couldn't quite explain why, but the thought simply drifted through her mind.

Removed from the anime.

Why is the novel so lewd? No wonder Ishihara scraped his dick across glass to buy rights to the anime.

If Ishihara solo'd it it would probably have all that lewd stuff, but the characterization would suck.

I'd feel sick too if I hear about that bland character.

why does Shu1 get so much hate? He's not an asshole and he's done nothing but try to be a normal guy.

I have no particular feeling for the guy. He's just there.

Flower pin Kumiko shown in Kyoani art. Het and pretty much confirmed

Flower pin is subtle but isn't it just a gift from Shu1?

she just bromance like always

typical roastie wanting to keep the dude that likes her on a string

...

>make yuribait
>the girl loves boy

why japan do this?

...

>anime changes it to reina giving her the hairpin

>being this desperate

...

Does this mean it will cover book 3 also?

btw, op here, thanks
so i see my friend is a bullshitter

Are you dumb, OP?

Kumiko is so fucking cute. I just want to hug her.

Where's novelanon when we need him?

This reads like a fanfiction. Is this how all light novels are?

It's a novel.

Are you smart?

That's even worse.

>Some Sup Forumsnon
Fixed that for you.

>Like most LNs the source material is garbage.

Kyoani is one of the rare studios that makes the adaptations better than the source.

Has anyone tried reading the Haruhi books? Absolute trash. Good concepts but fuck those things are horrid.

Kumiko!

You posted a excerpt that agreed with your idea that there was yuri in the novels and another that contradicted it, then acted as if your friend was lying to your face, so at the very least I'm smarter than you.

Mitsuki and Akihito's club conversation in the beginning make me physically ill reading it in the LN, but the anime made it at least tolerable.
It was longer in the LN though.

He's the love interest rival.
Shippers are spiteful.

I actually like his character. He's chill, but lacks screen time.

It's mostly what said. It's the shippers.
Although I do agree that he needs more interaction with Kumiko if they want to make them end up together. As long as they execute it nicely, I'm happy.

I didn't ask if you were smarter than me; I asked if you were smart.

The first removal of the first excerpt is, all by itself, enough to prove he was bullshitting.

The existence of the lewd second excerpt doesn't erase the fact that there is yuri in the novels that isn't in the anime. It's not like MC's yuri experiences all immediately disappear if she has a twinge of jealousy over a boy.

>Kyoani is one of the rare studios that makes the adaptations better than the source

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAH Delusional Kyoanifag spotted.

Kyoani is nothing but a studio to pander the retards like you by destroying the source of the adaptations they make. There you have Phantom World, Hibike, Chuu2, Amagi and others.

That's why Kyoanus went to a monetary problem 2 years ago, that's why their adaptations sells like shit these days, and that's why they need to throw fujoshit like Free or Yurishit like Hibike to get some money.

>Kyoani is one of the rare studios that makes the adaptations better than the source.
This

>There you have Phantom World, Hibike, Chuu2, Amagi and others.
>implying you've read any of those

The second passage wasn't lewd.

Also, it was more to show that there's het in the novel that wasn't in the anime, as well as yuri.

And for the record, there is more yuri in the anime than the novel.

>And for the record, there is more yuri in the anime than the novel.
That's fine. The point I was curious about was whether or not there was actually "little to no yuri" in the novel.

>normal guy

Dul & boring you mean. Weakest link of the show, even the other side-character guys are better than him.

That's mainly because he was sidelined in order to develop the relationship between KumiRei. All we can tell so far is that he seems pretty laidback. Season 2 might help him become more interesting.

Fukkin saved.

Yes.

>The rolled up shirt cuffs exposed her smooth, white skin. It was arousing, but not in an obscene way.

Excuse me?

"No homo"

I bet they'd be giving brojobs if they were men

Sounds like something a horny Sup Forumsnon would write.

All it devolves into is dumb arguments all the time like "Char was right" and "Char did nothing wrong."

Char was right and did nothing wrong by the way

Girls who clearly are not acting like lesbians is the worst shit because it just feels like it's pandering to try to make my dick hard and has no substance.

Friendship between non lesbian girls, normal friendship where they have hardships and care about each other is much better than shit like that.

Yuuko and Natsuki turn up the gay meter.

The anime has no yuri either, so what is your point?
