Remove the girl and I will say yes.
I like girls in thicc, covering armour, with long, sturdy polearms and the want and knowledge to use them.
I don't know, tell me about them.
I love this one.
But armor reduces their mobility. Better if they have as little of it on as possible.
Spears are always good
Who cares about mobility when a single hit will cut straight through your flesh and into your bone. A single arrow will pierce your body, tear through your entrails and leave you screaming in agony on the ground. I mean, sure if you're into guro and ryona that might be nice, but I like my girls covered in plate, with their hands on thick shafts of wood and steel.
Char said that you shouldn't worry about attacks if you avoid being hit by them.
>Who cares about mobility when a single hit will cut straight through your flesh and into your bone
Gambisson, mate
I mean, yeah, plate armors are undeniably powerful but you are making a girl wear it. That would be like using a car engine on a tank. And since battles are more on travels, then no.
Best to use rely on cheap but fast moving formation infantries than a powerful knight that would die of exhausted on travel alone
Appropriate weapons/armor for the appropriate skill sets.
My waifu is a spear user. Her choice of weapon doesn't really matter though. I'd love her just as much even if she were an archer or a mace user or something.
If you choose full mobility instead of armour, you HAVE to avoid every single strike, blow, cut and swing. If you choose armour instead, you can shrug off many blows and go straight for the kill against a mobilityfag.
Are you implying this is gambeson? Or that gambeson is somehow preferable to a full suit of plate?
I'm not defending him.
I share the same fetish for realistic armor
I'm just saying that certain weapons/armor has certain skill sets needed for it. Insisting otherwise would be more of a liability for the user
2D is not 3D though, user. I wouldn't want to operate with three dimensional lolis.
Beautiful girls don't get injured when they fight; only their clothes get torn, so skipping armor is the rational course of action.
I think we're watching different kinds of fights.
I gladly would
Military lolis are top notch spies, trap deployers, and saboteurs for obvious reasons
Wearing armour is always better than not wearing armour. The idea that you would be significantly faster without armour is nonsense. It's more tiring and requires practice to move in, but there is absolutely no way to make up for not wearing armour. The armoured person has a huge advantage over the one not wearing armour.
Mindbroken, weak, unmotivated, no sisu.
I would choose a 3D adult male over a loli any time of day. Lolis only operate in 2D.
Do I?!
Actually I don't, pic related was worst girl in her series.
Here are the consequences of a defeat. As you can see she only has torn clothes and scratch marks. Armor wouldn't have provided much benefit in this situation.
Then why did Alexander the Great and his troops chose to use the linothorax instead of the bronze thorax hoplites had traditionally worn?
>Then why did Alexander the Great and his troops chose to use the linothorax instead of the bronze thorax hoplites had traditionally worn?
Because they didn't have the metallurgy to outfit everyone in full plate.
Even Alexander himself went with a linothorax though and he could have easily afforded bronze armor.
Combat-wise, you are correct.
But war is 70% travel under the unforgiving weather
It is better to reach the battlefield in leather armor than dying of heat stroke midway through the road. Such is the reason why WW2 soldiers chose the lighter rifles than the more powerful but heavier ones
>Then why did Alexander the Great and his troops chose to use the linothorax instead of the bronze thorax hoplites had traditionally worn?
Warfare at a large scale is limited by different constraints. Was it perhaps comparably protective? Couldn't they afford to armour everyone properly? etc. - but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about individual combat here. And in individual combat you would always choose to wear armour and the person in armour always has a huge advantage.
How about simply dressing up in armour when the battle begins?
>Then why did Alexander the Great and his troops chose to use the linothorax instead of the bronze thorax hoplites had traditionally worn?
Because linothorax is armor.
>When recreated and tested by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, the linothorax was resistant to broad-head arrows and slashing damage of weapons with sharp edges. The bend of the fabric would allow the energy of the arrows to dissipate through the material and protect the user from lacerations. Blunt force trauma would still transfer through the armor, however, and possibly damage the internal organs of the soldier. This design would be very effective against the standard weapons of the Asia Minor armies: scimitars, spears, and light axes.
GGGGAAAAYYYYY
Nope. Knights have a rule to never remove his armor unless he is sleeping or inside the fortress.
And for good reason too as it is impossible to wear full plate alone + you don't know when you will be ambused
I know about that myth of Knight armor being heavy. I am referring to other factors such as fatique, oven-like design, and difficulty to wear
>Such is the reason why WW2 soldiers chose the lighter rifles than the more powerful but heavier ones
Lol no.
Plate armour was the most common type of armour from the 15th century on. A knight would wear full plate armour, a mercenary would wear a breastplate, gauntlets, a helmet, etc.
>I am referring to other factors such as fatique, oven-like design, and difficulty to wear
>fatique
Not at all, if you understand that the full plate armours are NOT that heavy, especially when it distribute over all of your body.
It is sure that you can not out-run a guy with normal clothing, but he can not out-run a thousand arrows shoving up his ass either.
>oven-like design
What?
>difficulty to wear

...
Munition armour is the name for the latter.
Fighting in a set of full plate is extremely tiring though, but that's what physical excercise and formations are for.
I tried looking for the article but I can't find it anymore. But I can guarantee you that it detailed how Allied forces choose the lighter rifles (M1- Carbine?) over the more powerful ones (Garand?)
Arggh. My memory sucks. Rekt me as you see fit
Munition armour mostly refers to the cheaper not custom made suits (half- or three-quarter harnesses). I was more referring to individual pieces of armour that may be combined with other types of armour.
The point remains however that plate armour was the most protective and if you could afford a suit of plate armour you would not choose to wear a gambeson because it was lighter.
You would chose a gambeson with maybe some plate if you were an archer, crossbowmen, operating siege engines or do other work like this. For those jobs a suit of plate would hinder the movement of the body too much.
>Fighting in a set of full plate is extremely tiring
And none of them are people who fight primarily in melee combat, which is what we're talking about.
Oven-like design.
I was referring to it's metals. Like come,on. Can you touch your roof during a summer noon?
How about wearing plate while raiding a burning castle?
Yeah, that's how bad it is
Yes, I know that it is is "not that heavy/difficult to wear" but not everyone can endure it for extended periods of time
Chainmails, gambison, and leather armor is the long-term solution
Yes it is?
If boxers fall before round 12, what makes you think that a knight can last a 1 month seige?
I'm going to eat. Later
Regina a shit
I want to spear a girl with a spear with my spear.
>how Allied forces choose the lighter rifles (M1- Carbine?) over the more powerful ones (Garand?)
But they didn't. Both remained in use and offshoots of the Garand are still in use today. The Carbine and Garand simply fullfill different roles, with the former being more similiar to modern assault rifles (though less powerful) and the latter being more of a battle rifle. The M14 that replaced the Garand was the main service rifle in the US military until the M16 replaced it.
Fighting normally is tiring. Add weight to it and its worse. Have you ever fought, or wrestled with anyone, or do you just watch anime and read manga?
>I was referring to it's metals. Like come,on. Can you touch your roof during a summer noon?
>How about wearing plate while raiding a burning castle?
>Yeah, that's how bad it is
Ever heard of tabards and surcoats?
>Ever heard of tabards and surcoats?
First time hearing it. You win
I still won't trust full plates for the main force though
>Have you ever fought, or wrestled with anyone, or do you just watch anime and read manga?
Going to ask you guys this question, but OK.
In real battlefields and real fights, if you are good enough and struggling for your life, it should not last that long, at least not long enough to make your care about the heat more than your life. Especially when you are fighting in a group with no where to run or hide.
Travelling is a different story, though.
Yes
Yeah, you're definitely better off with assault rifles and plate carriers with helmets.
>In real battlefields and real fights, if you are good enough and struggling for your life, it should not last that long, at least not long enough to make your care about the heat more than your life.
Extended battles, user. Thousands of men fighting eachother. Don't be fucking retarded. The battle continues until either side routs, surrenders or is completely destroyed. It does not end when a single guy beats his first opponent.
I repeat, don't be fucking retarded.
>facebook filenames
>complete retardation
>avatarfagging with cats
This is bait, right?
Alexander also charged head on into combat along with his troops and refused to take extra rations of water during shortages even when offered to him by his own troops. He wasn't one for differentiating himself from his troops.
Did he himself do any actual planning or was it his generals?
He did most of it.
As said, he did a lot of the actual strategizing on top of planning supply routes/logistics and for the most part personally leading the heavy cavalry unit of his army.
He is recorded to have lead personally Etairoi( the heacy cava unit i mentioned) and fought in the thick of battle in 3 major battles, winning all of them, and to have received non-fatal wounds from combat in a lot of other less important battles and skirmishes.
He was a real cool dude.
>Do you like girls with spears?
user, you have no idea.
only if they like only girls
I adore women with spears.
I like you, user. I like girls with spears, too. But this is not the thread for that.
