What free will do you actually have...

What free will do you actually have? I mean from the moment of your conception you have human DNA and none of this supposed free will comes into the equation. You will 100% become a human. Where the fuck is the free will?

DNA is a part of the machinery that 'free will' operates on top of, it's hiding in your skull somewhere according to current beliefs

When faced with a decision, studies have shown the brain knows what you will choose before you make a choice. Meaning that some part of your mind is responsible for your actions and freewill is an illusion to give you a sense of control. The goal then should be to understand this part of psyche, to experience it, and to gain control over it, effectively taking control over your own life. Addiction, bad habits, fears, character flaws, poor choices..can all be stopped.

Those studies are a bit bodgy though, you could just be deciding about how long you will wait for before pushing the button
It's a waiting experiment
Try something based on quick reflexes

free-will ultimately means 2 choose 2 bcome what 'God' wanted u bcome... (((a 'God')))

God told us to do exactly the opposite. Crowley liked anal a lot.

Free will is a useful tool for self-regulation. Believe in it and you'll have greater control over your life, meaning your actions will reflect your values, as opposed to your hedonic urges, more frequently. That's all there is to it as far as I'm concerned.

That part of the mind is still your mind though.
At the end of the day, the question is stupid because nobody is willing to define free will before they do these experiments. Whatever result comes up, they’ll change their definition to fit their view. Free will can only ever be a philisophical question because it’s an ambiguous term.

It's like a mass effect game essentially.

we're frogs faggot

this looks like something a discordian recently made up, judging by the use of thoth's image, but i wouldn't put the words past crowley, as every bit of it is incorrect and an indoctrination
i especially love the 'death to all who dare to not believe in our free will meme, also (((love))) is all goys, lol' part at the end

the universe we live in (as it can be measured/perceived/calculated by us) is a isolated system and the second law of thermodynamics tells us free will is just an illusion because ordered flow produces entropy faster than unordered flow.

its a total bunch of static, the only illusion is our eyes have tuned in on a frequency, hiding 99.999% of it

Free will is a human contruct having no origin in the natural world.

Doesn't mean i'm going to start voting dem/rep or supporting israeli apartheid (or even worse, become a feminist).

so after you write a formula on a board you are not able to see more than 0.001% of it? ever thought of visiting a eye specialist?

We don't have free will

Bet we also don't have the mental capacity to elaborate on every vector that guides out being so we have relative "free will"

our actions change our perception

if you could see wifi, infared etc, you would see your screen very differently, but we never had an evolutionary need to see electrical radiation

You have the free will to either accept the consequences of your actions and work towards being a better person and take your own meaningful life into your own hands...
OR
rejecting any responsibility for your own life and be a nihilist turd which is easier I guess but makes for horrible and immoral hedonistic people.

free will == the consciousness == your experience of life == the soul

all these brainlet tier answers ITT because people are scared to face the truth

"you" don't exist. what you think is "you", your personality, your feelings, your reflexes, your emotions, etc. is all the workings of chemicals and shit in the body
we could program a computer to think exactly like you and make the exact same decisions you would in life.
but the computer will never experience those calculations and decisions. it is just input-output.

it's correct that our consciousness is an illusion but to take that as supporting materialism or determinism is retarded because an illusion requires something to be view it and be fooled (cartesian problem).
that thing is the soul.

debate about where it comes from, whether it's channeled specifically through our brains, or all animals brains, or all life, or all matter itself
we won't know until we push the limits and find out.

>electrical radiation

the ego death brings a deeper understanding

we're like extra dense static electricity, if we could change the bandwidth we see we would see planets at different orbital distances (the entire universe is full of "planets", but not on our specific frequency

Its like wearing red lenses and trying to read red writing, "it isnt there"

put on blue spectacles and its obvious

the colour of the spectacles of free will is our ability to reason (practically and in the abstract)

basically "the big bang" never happened and we are God daydreaming in an infinite point of density
