It's been 35 years since this anime aired, and I don't think Sup Forums has ever really celebrated it. For those who haven't seen it, it was a hugely influential anime, and that influence is still being felt by the anime industry today.

Not that user, and I actually enjoyed it, but it was pretty stupid of them to cut the exposition sequence from Movie 4 (when Ataru and Mendo go see Mendo's grandfather, there was supposed to be a scene where they meet him and most stuff is explained. The final movie just skips it and it's never clear what Ataru and Mendo learned there completely). Some people don't like random unanswered mysteries.

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I remember it being really obtuse. Hard to understand in a way that either wasn't purposeful or was purposeful but poorly executed. Sorry I can't do an accurate review right now, but I really remember not liking it. I remember hating movie 3 even harder, though. Cheesy and unfunny.

The third movie had a wizard orb, Lum and Ataru living out a lifetime as married brontosauruses, and Ataru sobbing miserably that he has to show Lum the fistful of red strings tied to all his fingers, you can't wholly hate it.
