What is Sup Forums's opinion on homeschooling?
I feel that public schools have become way to degenerate and with the internet you are now able to teach your kid pretty much everything they learn from k-12th grade. But at the same time I don't want my kids to not learn how to socialize and have a hard time when they eventually enter the adult world.

I think that kind of shit only happens in a small minority of schools, ones in particularly liberal districts. My three kids have never been through anything like this.
That being said, my wife actually home schooled my girls when we removed them from a STEM focused charter school (they hated it). They're doing great now back in public school and are WAY ahead of their peers.
If you actually taught your kids how to think, take them out and teach them life lessons and how to do common things that most kids aren't taught to do anymore, then I'd support it. Sadly though, it's mostly used by the deeply religious to keep their kids from learning about evolution.

I knew a really protestant american guy who was homeschooled. He was sound, not degen at all and pretty well balanced. I think he played a tonne of different sports so he got socialised that way.
God willing, my spouse and I will be homeschooling our kids. Even Christian private schools cannot be trusted.
I agree home schooling is the better option. But there are other ways to socialize your kids other then shipping them off to public schools.

The usual stuff online suggest "put them in groups and outside activities to make up for lack of interaction" which make a degree of sense, but really its up to the kid.

I currently homeschool my 4 year old (preschool). Well, my wife does.
Preschool and kinder is pretty simple and you'll get by with 1-2 hours, 3 times a week. At that age they mostly learn by being around their parents. As long as you're engaging, they'll be fine.
Once they are in 1st grade it is daily, but no more than 3 or 4 hours.
She plans the activities for the week and makes sure he gets plenty of play time which is how little kids mainly learn (not sitting down for 8 hours- especially boys).
So far they both enjoy it. Tons of resources online.

Kids learn to socialize from their parents, not their peers. Besides, kids have to sit and be quiet most of the time at school. They spend a lot of time just rewriting things from a book. They are scolded for socializing. When they do socialize, it is forced. They are forced to be with kids who they might despise and not get along with. In homeschool, you can meet other kids in church, sports, boy scouts, etc. and let them decide if they want to be friends. They can't even defend themselves because of "zero tolerance" policies if something should happen to them. i don't see how that is healthy? As an adult, you choose who you want to socialize with. You should be the one instilling their values and beliefs.
Their is also no peer pressure at home to "be cool" or do stupid shit to fit in. They can focus on learning and developing valuable skills. And there is a lot of extra time for them to explore their own interests at their own pace.

Its both, but peers are very important. Parents are there to regulate, but they need to learn from interactions with their peers, at least at a young age.
For example - If they only played with you (their father) they would never learn the "boundary" of what is appropriate physical level for playing with their peers. If they do something 2-3 times in the playground with random kids who then stop playing with them the message is many times greater than if you tell them not to do something.
This interaction costs them nothing because it is with random toddlers/4 year olds in the park or where ever you go.
If you do not do this with your kid they stagnate and do not learn. A three year old that plays with others at a two year old level might be included but a five year old that plays at a two year old level because they have not been socialised is going to be shunned.
At the same time rough housing with their father also teaches them boundaries and single mothers are less likely to do this because they are women. So if you are not around the children are impacted in different ways (beyond single mothers being shit).
You will also put up with their shit compared to other kids, so they learn behavior that is not appropriate. This will occur if you like it or not because you are an adult, not a child.

No. Homeschooling makes no logical sense unless the parents doing it are superior academics to the teachers at school. I knew a girl in college who was homeschooled and super intelligent but her parents were like, biochemists.
So if you aren't particularly educated, you'll be homeschooling using purchased materials. Unlike a school environment, where you ultimately interact with dozens of different teachers of varying specialties and teaching styles, you'll get the same exact person (the parent) reading from an increasingly challenging textbook.
Just send your kids to public school, senpai. You pay taxes for it anyway.

Homeschooling parent here. Children learn social skills form their parents. Mine get compliments for appropriate behavior in public settings. Publik skools only deal with child's direct peers while mocking those in positions of authority. Think of (((who))) helped to start publik skools... (Rockefeller, et al.)

There was a study done showing coal miners with a GED could homeschool their kids to a higher standard than the average public school could. Public school is literally designed to make you dumber. It's a psychological experiment lab more than anything.
Sports are fine, but I think shit like football, snowboarding, and skateboarding are promoted to spread brain damage. The British pushed sports on their colonists to keep them British. Sports make you interact with a small group of people constantly. Those people are given the same propaganda and outlook as you, so no one ever deviates in behavior like someone interacting with the outside world would.

I know a number of families that homeschooled, and their children are better behaved and have more coherent thoughts, and are able to express themselves better. I wasn't homeschooled, but my wife and I are going to homeschool, definitely.
So yeah, socialization isn't a problem; homeschooled kids are actually much better at interacting with people. (Presumably because they interact with adults rather than other tards their own age.)
Public schooling is fine as long as you're a competent parent and can teach your children to be competent children. Public school is great for the social aspect if you're not an autist.

I support the theory, but my anecdotal evidence keeps me from relying on church to socialize kids. Only kids I knew growing up who went to church and not school would sneak out of service and drink/fuck in the bathroom. maybe that little gang of kids is uncommon enough but I sure as shit wont let my kids be one of the.
Both of my children are. One of the best decisions I made. We love it. My county has over 600 homeschooled children. They get plenty of socialization. We meet up in groups. Co- ops, are great too.
