I remember liking it and the artsy intro when I was younger, but some elements seem pretty questionable looking back. The main guy was pretty vestigial outside of the repressed backstory, and his cousin was just there to fuel a bizarrely creepy love triangle.
Still remember liking Nana and Bando's manga story arcs though.

To be honest Bandou wasn't really THAT much of a violent dirt bag after he lost his arm and eyes,
