They watch cool animes like Attack on Titan instead.

and dragon ball

isnt that sort of mecha?

Those are all good mecha except one.

Normalfags like 08th MS Team? That's news to me. I assumed they don't touch any Gundam anime that isn't either Unicorn or recently aired.

That one being A.Z, right?

It should be Wing instead of 8th MS Team

Robots fights are boring, it's not exciting to see a long drawn out fight before the mc presses the BIG LASER button to end it

Awesome post, you made some good points

thanks i try my best

I've only seen 4 or these 6, but have seen Do You Remember Love and Macross Frontier. What does that make me?

Because gundam is for the most part boring.
The fights are uninspired and the designs are lame. If it weren't for gundam series being the majority of mecha anime made people might have changed their minds.
Full metal panic was mostly bad too.

Nigger the 08th MS Team was good. If anything, it should be Wing of Seed there

That's not necessarily supposed to be a list of bad shows.

Isn't Seed and 00 very popular with normalfags? It's pretty much Code Geass tier.

...because they're normalfags... what did you expect?

I think the list is supposed to be about the mecha casuals like. 08th MS is quite obscure.

>Sup Forums will never experience the greatest mecha anime known to mankind

youtube.com/watch?v=kQuNiGwiq5Q

what is interesting about robots fighting robots?

No.

Debatable. It has to much talking for the average kiddie with adhd

Does Transformers counts as a mecha? I liked Transformers when I was a kid.

Most mecha is pretty shit though

I say this as a mecha fan, the genre only really got decent in the 80s when Gundam forced them to drop the shitty monster of the week format

gets repetitive after a while

the cliches start becoming so visible that you begin to hate the genre

Why not G Gundam? It was on toonami wasn't it?

What the fuck this was made at the same time as Zambot? The animation and detail is a hundred levels better than Zambot, this looks like an early 80s show instead of early 70s. Is it consistent or is this just a really good episode?

>Gundam forced them to drop the shitty monster of the week format
Except Gundam is monster of the week

Zeta is one of the worst anime ever made

Anyone have that picture of those kids saying mecha is old fashioned?

>Zeta is one of the worst anime ever made
Stopped caring about your awful opinion here

becuz they think naruto is masterpiace

Zambot was a low budget show for its time. Toei was releasing better stuff.

youtube.com/watch?v=h8QrzypoGek

Code Geass was hardly about mecha and more so about deus ex machinas and fanservice.

Gurren Lagann was all about humans basically being green lanterns of the soul and alien gods from the history channel saying stop faggot, you'll kill us all.

Never saw Neon Genesis... it looks dumb and responsible for the tsundere trope.

Pic related me and your argument.

Except you know, Zeta was monster of the week.

But that's not only it. Zeta had awful pacing, awful characters, awful story, and no ending.

Tomino's worst 80s work is by far Zeta. Even Xabungle and Zambot were far superior.

Because no one wants to watch a show about political agenda wars when they can turn on CNN and watch the same thing.

>responsible for the tsundere trope
Started watching anime last year huh?

>the genre only really got decent over 35 years ago
Even if this were true (I liked Mazinger and the like half of Raideen that's subbed), it'd hardly be a biting criticism.

>code geass
>mecha
It's a super power keikaku master soap opera

The mecha are merely the pawns on the chessboard to Lelouch, they're not very important.

Monster of the week format is fine if it leads to greatness in the latter half of the show. GaoGaiGar is a prime example.

The same things you can get out of humans fighting humans.

>responding

Ive seen Code Geass, Evangelion and that thing on netflix.

I originally liked Code Geass when I was an anime babby, but upon rewatch... nah. Evangelion was never appealing, but I saw it cuz of all the hype regarding the ending, which was shit btw, and that thing on netflix I cant remember the name of was just weird.

And I agree with others here, watching robots fight isnt really that exciting.

>Never saw Neon Genesis... it looks dumb and responsible for the tsundere trope
This taste- it's shit

>what is interesting about robots fighting robots?
Because of JAM Project which makes the fight 10x better.

youtube.com/watch?v=vFocJiPzzXE&t=6m10s

>...
>btw
>that thing on Netflix
Kill yourself.

Why do people discriminate between robot fights and people fights. Especially with the amount of robo gore shit like Getter and Mazinger have, I look at fights the same way be it flesh or metal, I don't get how people look at a big robot fight and go "nah that would be better without robots".

(Tu)

>likes One Punch Man
>never seen Eva

underage faggot over here

I never watched them before.
Just that one about GUNDAM EPYON! HELL YEAH THAT'S THE BEST GUNDAM! And the best Gundam deserves the best pilot.(idk about pilots of other Gundam series just the kiddos of this one) and that pilot is ZECH FUCKING MERQUISE

Don't mind me just posting HYP fights

youtube.com/watch?v=psAMCrBilao

I couldn't find he HD version... Shit!

What's her name? I can't remember!

Most western normalfags don't have nostalgia for the toy commercials of Japanese normalfags' youth.

Always nice to hear pre macross soundtracks before everything went all jpop all the time.

Gyrozetter was pretty fun. Too bad no one gave it a serious look.

youtube.com/watch?v=HFRl2MBzQd8

>Aldnoah
Really?

VVV is one of the most entertaining mecha series I've ever watched.

Are we being raided?

Some of these posts sounds really off.

>watched 4 of those and no other mecha
>loved all of them
You fucking got me.

this has to be bait.

In what way does it even slightly resemble a mecha?

Minus the tension

How? 99% of the time the pilots/controllers are in the fucking robots, and even if they aren't people are going to die/get injured if they lose. Unless you're watching GBF.

People can die in giant robots too, you know.

This is bait.

Usually they never watched any mecha anime, except maybe Gundam Wing when they were young, and sometime Evangelion or Gurren Lagann (wich they both consider to not really be mecha). They think mecha is just a dumb genre about robots punching each other (but TTGL is alright because it parodies it !) and ton of technobabble. And ignore that it's a vast genre with ton of different themes and tones.

Also, I don't think normies watch FMP, Aldnoshit and 8th MS team. If they did they probably wouldn't hate the genre in the first place.

...

It's a pretty decent point actually. Even if they're not in robots they're still humans controlling humanoid entities from within.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Is the best one.
Evangelion? Fuck that shit! Stupid emo protagonist with his emo league friends touching themselves? Never cared about those stupid pilots, but the giant cyborg beasts are fucking awesome, I just watched the fights... Same with Gurren lagan but just the final fight against the gigga nigga universe buster thing
And people say that Pacific Rim is a knockoff of Evangelion. More like Power Rangers.

>normies
Kill yourself.

>That ignorant faggot who call every mecha from gundam "gundams".
Fuck, I know why they do it but it just irks me.

Who's discrimitating?(lol) those fights are awesome.

I only like Eva and Gunbuster.

>gundams are mobile suits!! Just like the name says it's like wearing a suit of combat armour
Full fucking retard.

How much new stuff does Unicorn TV have compared to OVA?
The thing's gone over 20 episodes while I wasn't looking.

>not liking Char being a main character
Okay faggot

One of the best 90s mecha shows right here

Nothing.

It is.
Humans have to take control of giant humanoid objects to fight said objects.
The only difference is that they're pocket mecha and only a few can use them

>mobile suit gundam
who's the retard here?

The person who thinks a machine you pilot by sitting down in the full sized chair in the cockpit and using whatever control mechanisms the series in question has, up to and including a keyboard and command prompt, is just like wearing a suit of armour because of the name.

Oh shit looks like /m/subs finished the series, absolute mad/m/en.

Correct.

In Mazinger, you pilot the mecha. Learn the difference.

I'll give you an answer
HUGE Disappoinments like Aldnoah/zzz and Valvrave made them hate it. Your pic is wrong - normalfags hate A/zzz

I downloaded this years ago after I first watched Tylor but it's just sat on my nas forever.

Titan shifters are basically driving Biomechs (giant humanoid weapons)

Mecha is by far the gayest genre there is. Even hardcore gay porn is way less gay.
Also, mechas a shit. Tanks will forever be cooler

Said nobody ever.

I don't really hate mecha, I just don't see the appeal of it.
I like Macross though.

I sense irony but jokes on you, AoT is actually a cool anime

But AoT is basically Muv Luv without the mecha

It's an acquired taste. There's a huge amount of mecha anime out there too so it can be daunting to get into the genre. Most people that "don't like mecha" have barely seen any.

The vast majority of mecha anime are complete garbage including the ones on that chart. There are only two good Gundam shows at most.

...

...

im not a normalfag but mecha anime sounds so generic and predictable. aliens come from outer space and the main character either lucks out or pulls an op move last second

This is exactly what I was talking about. "I've seen almost no mecha, but I think this is what it will be like so I don't like it".

I'm 32 and never managed to get through Eva. I always drop it. I managed to watch all of OPM, though. I suppose I should finally force myself to trudge through Eva.

Sad thing is, I like mecha.

Mecha is pretty boring. I've watched dozens of super robot anime, ranging from the 70s to present, and I can say only maybe 3 of them were good enough to be on a top 50 list of shows I've seen.

Most old mecha anime don't stand up today, most contemporary mecha are ugly CGI garbage that recycles the plot lines of the shitty older shows.

>There are only two good Gundam shows at most.
And it's not Turn A.

Because Turn A is actually a pile of shit.

Old mecha are poorly made toy advertisements, new mecha are mostly mediocre made toy advertisements.

>I've watched dozens of super robot anime
>super robot
>he still thinks there's a difference between super and real
>tfw
>kek

The best mecha movie ever made. Prove me wrong.
