Devilman Saga it's supposed to tie and end Devilman/Devilman Lady/Amon/Violence Jack. What are you expecting? Will Ryo finally finish the cycle of eternal return and get the Akira D
Only read the first Devilman. The plot was great, but holy hell most of the characters were bland crap. Any of the later ones improve on that?
Amon expands Devilman greatly and explains a lot of things, and the art it's top tier too.
Devilman Lady and Violence Jack are probably too long for their own good, and 90% of the manga is spent being "not Devilman sequel I swear" until -that- happens

It was several years ago so I have forgotten where I got my own torrents, but they shouldn't be too forgotten to not pop in google. If you have already read Devilman, you are missing DLady and Amon. Devilman Lady gets boring at times but it was a wild ride. I loved Amon from beginning to end.
Missing the Violence Jack manga too, but it's not finished translating. I used to have the whole thing scanned in my PC in Japanese and "read" it with descriptions from other people.

No, it just looks bad in the trailers. Looks generic. My expectations right now are very low.
I have no problem with it being serious, or comedic, or whatever, it just looks plain and boring.

Devilman Lady is fantastic, of course you are going to have your typical Nagai-rape but IMO its a plus.
And you can see a ton of stuff Anno took for eva(Rei Asuka comes to mind) also the orc rape in Berserk is pretty much verbatim homage to a scene in Lady.
I always tell to fans of Eva and Berserk to read Devilman. Understanding the inspiration makes it a lot more enjoyable.
I was expecting boobs and stuff, but then Devilman Lady just starts with rape and it just keeps happening. Surprised that it showed dicks so often. Which scene does Berserk take from, Lady's awakening? Haven't read up that part in Berserk yet.

The story is surprisingly the least edgy Devilman adaptation since the TV anime. Most of it is fanservice of Go Nagai in general.

It was popularish with fans of Go Nagai but it's a bit held back by the fact that it is literally "nostalgia and references: the manga".

Only watched the OVA's. I don't get why it got so edgy in the last one. I actually liked the direction it was taking, too. Akira leading an increasing Devilman army eventually against Satan would have been dope, not this internal struggle bullshit.
Read the manga. You will get just that.
So what do people think of the anime adaptation of Devilman Lady? I'm about a third of the way through it, and I kind of like it despite being pretty different from the manga.
It's good. So different from the manga it's just impossible to compare them.
I wish there were adaptations of the actual Go Nagai versions of the stories tho
It changed the backstory to wizards and witches and King Solomon to make it more Miki-centric. He took the "Miki is a witch, burn her" comments very seriously.
