Recently read Devilman saga, let's have a Go Nagai thread
Did you enjoyed Grimoire? How do you feel about the upcoming Cutie Honey movie?
Devilman Saga it's supposed to tie and end Devilman/Devilman Lady/Amon/Violence Jack. What are you expecting? Will Ryo finally finish the cycle of eternal return and get the Akira D
Evan Evans
Only read the first Devilman. The plot was great, but holy hell most of the characters were bland crap. Any of the later ones improve on that?
Xavier Campbell
Amon expands Devilman greatly and explains a lot of things, and the art it's top tier too.
Devilman Lady and Violence Jack are probably too long for their own good, and 90% of the manga is spent being "not Devilman sequel I swear" until -that- happens
Hunter Perry
Only read the first manga but watches the OVAs and movies including VJ's. What should i continue reading and where can i do it (which torrent or online reader)?
Jack Lee
It was several years ago so I have forgotten where I got my own torrents, but they shouldn't be too forgotten to not pop in google. If you have already read Devilman, you are missing DLady and Amon. Devilman Lady gets boring at times but it was a wild ride. I loved Amon from beginning to end.
Missing the Violence Jack manga too, but it's not finished translating. I used to have the whole thing scanned in my PC in Japanese and "read" it with descriptions from other people.
Elijah Nelson
I hate Cutie Honey Tears and it isn't even out
Caleb Jackson
Come on, it's the current year
Robert Kelly
Ryo deserves happiness, he has worked so hard. Please Nagai just end it with Ryo being happy.
Jose Campbell
>just finished the original Devilman manga >this thread
What I read after that?
Connor Gonzalez
Devilman Lady is you want a brain melt
Kayden Sullivan
I like how as time and worlds go by Ryo becomes more and more thirsty for Akira
Benjamin Cooper
>I hate Cutie Honey Tears and it isn't even out Are you one of those fags who think Cutie Honey shouldn't be gritty (Even though Cutie Honey always hard a dark tone to it)?
Justin Myers
No, it just looks bad in the trailers. Looks generic. My expectations right now are very low.
I have no problem with it being serious, or comedic, or whatever, it just looks plain and boring.
Asher Gutierrez
Ryo what's your problem
Jaxon Green
>most of the characters were bland crap
Anthony Lopez
Ryo must be protected
Oliver King
from 0 to 100

Devilman Lady is fantastic, of course you are going to have your typical Nagai-rape but IMO its a plus.
And you can see a ton of stuff Anno took for eva(Rei Asuka comes to mind) also the orc rape in Berserk is pretty much verbatim homage to a scene in Lady.
Brayden Davis
I always tell to fans of Eva and Berserk to read Devilman. Understanding the inspiration makes it a lot more enjoyable.
Lucas Moore
I was expecting boobs and stuff, but then Devilman Lady just starts with rape and it just keeps happening. Surprised that it showed dicks so often. Which scene does Berserk take from, Lady's awakening? Haven't read up that part in Berserk yet.
Jack Long
Yeah in the 1st volume. It also clears a lot of stuff for the Amon OVA, like what the actual fuck is this.
Hudson Roberts
Psycho Jenny pisses me off whenever she shows up because stupid shit always happens. Why did -THAT- have to happen to Jun? She was a cutie.
Matthew Smith
>Anno took for eva(Rei Asuka comes to mind) You're forgetting he literally inserted Ryo into the Anime
Xavier Martinez
Thats based on Ikuhara tho.
Xavier Hill
Half Ryo half Iku-chan
Ethan Gonzalez
>Did you enjoyed Grimoire?
Is it completely translated? I have the raws and like the art bc its edgy af.
Aaron Wilson
The story is surprisingly the least edgy Devilman adaptation since the TV anime. Most of it is fanservice of Go Nagai in general.
Brody Scott
In the sense that it doesnt end with the end of the world?
Hunter Howard
...
Robert Turner
Yep, Maki saves the world by stopping Amon and Salomon's final battle and human and demons live together in peace.
Jace Cooper
Miki*
Charles Ortiz
Shame this manga didn't have Ryo on it.
It got a lot of complains for the lack of Ryo and his homolust, did it sold well despite that?
Jose Gonzalez
>tfw the batshit madness of the end of devilman lady The implications with Akira and Ryo were mindblowing.
Hudson Turner
lel thanks uncle go.
Aiden Torres
Ryo's plans get more retarded as time and worlds go by too. I can't wait to see how he is gonna outdo Devilman Lady.
Kevin Butler
It was popularish with fans of Go Nagai but it's a bit held back by the fact that it is literally "nostalgia and references: the manga".
Daniel Ramirez
>is a manga written and drawn by Takato Rui for the 40th anniversary of Devilman to introduce younger generations to the franchise with a completely fresh tale from the original format >completely leaves out Ryo and the very reason the events of Devilman are happening
0/10
Dominic Williams
It's the same with Kaworu, Ryo gets crazier and more retarded with every time loop
John Nguyen
Kaworu hasn't split in half and impregnated himself
Parker Wood
Apparently Rui Takato is a massive Mikifag and arguably Miki lost her heroine status after Ryo made his debut so it may not be a coincidence Ryo doesn't appear on Devilman G
Jack Diaz
Didn't Kaworu just stopped giving a fuck, due being aware of the SRW dimensions?
Yet.
Xavier Nelson
Only watched the OVA's. I don't get why it got so edgy in the last one. I actually liked the direction it was taking, too. Akira leading an increasing Devilman army eventually against Satan would have been dope, not this internal struggle bullshit.
Joseph Ward
Read the manga. You will get just that.
Cameron Bennett
So what do people think of the anime adaptation of Devilman Lady? I'm about a third of the way through it, and I kind of like it despite being pretty different from the manga.
Joshua Stewart
It's good. So different from the manga it's just impossible to compare them.
Alexander Young
I wish there were adaptations of the actual Go Nagai versions of the stories tho
Evan White
It changed the backstory to wizards and witches and King Solomon to make it more Miki-centric. He took the "Miki is a witch, burn her" comments very seriously.
