Which anime directors make anything they direct an autowatch for you?

Which anime directors make anything they direct an autowatch for you?

Him but instead of autowatch it's autodrop.

Anno

Mizushima Seiji

...

Fukuda

Do elaborate. Unless, of course, that was your attempt at trolling.

No one, because everyone there is piece of trash

...

Hideaki Anno
Isao Takahata
Kunihiko Ikuhara
Mamoru Hosoda
Masaaki Yuasa
Naoko Yamada
Sayo Yamamoto
Shinichiro Watanabe
Taichi Ishidate
Tatsuya Oishi

>elaborate
If he directs it, I will watch it. This isn't a difficult concept.

But why are you attracted to the works of that specific director? What makes you enjoy watching them?

Yuasa
Konaka

Not a director, but I watch or read everything Urobuchi works on, because he's that great.

Anno is the only one

Araki Tetsurou

He directs nothing but trainwrecks.

Anno and Shinkai.

Came here to post him

Only Mononoke and Trapeze were good

Basically this minus Taichi "literally who" Ishidate

Rie Matsumoto
Tatsuya Oishi
Shinichiro Watanabe
Masaaki Yuasa
Shinbo Akiyuki

And these dudes.

Yuasa and Yamada are the only modern ones I 100% trust.

They were his only solid works, but I still greatly enjoyed C, Tsuritama and Gatchaman.

Ryosuke Takahashi

...

Yuasa
Kenji Nakamura
Ikuhara
Watanabe

Also anything written by Chiaki, since it's always an interesting premise.

Imaishi is my favorite for a fun time.

>Basically this minus Taichi "literally who" Ishidate
Soon he will be highly regarded.

It's too bad all of these anime are terrible, even if some of them are pretty.

You are forgiven for your terrible taste.

>rehashed shit
>fun time

Shinji Takamatsu

akiyuki shinbou

Makoto Shinkai
Anno
Urobuchi Gen
Koike Takeshi
Matsuo Kou
Omori Takahiro

and I like some other guys for their Sakuga

Oonuma

I've yet to come across something I haven't liked from him.

>butcher
>director

>directors
>sakuga

hahahahahaha

I don't really give much thought about directors making it a watch or miss.

Only ones I have are Takemoto god and Ikuhara that I'll auto watch 100 percent.

Not him, but they are terrible even though got a shiny paint. Especially Phantomflop. Haruhi was alright though.

Kenichi Kasai
Isao Takahata
Hiroshi Nagahama

Not him, but they are great except for Phantom World.

Not director but I look foward to anything with Gen Urobochi name on it just to see how it turns out.

Shibo
Yuasa
Imaishi
Miyazaki
Rie Matsumoto

Shinbofags, how happy are you that Shinbo has returned to us?

>Kasai
I made the mistake of doing this with Love Stage, now I'm more cautious.

I think there's like five people on Sup Forums that've actually watched the shows Shinbo directed

Masaaki Yuasa
Hiroshi Nagahama
Ikuhara
Shinichiro Watanabe
Sayo Yamamoto
Isao Takahata
Mamoru Oshii (he has been kinda dead as of late though)

Also, anything written by Chiaki J. Konaka or produced by Masao Murayama (specially this man) is prone to be very good.

>inb4 casual taste

Yeah, I guess you're right.

Tsuritama was fun, come on

I'm glad, its fun to see Shinbo do Shinbo things
Old Shinbo is not Shibo enough

>no kobayashi
why

i know some people watched the soultaker at least

>not including Comic Psychedelic Medicine

Shit taste

It's a shame they couldn't top this episode

He's good.

Too bad Kizunaiver was Okada'd

>Only Mononoke and Trapeze were good
L O L

Shinkai, Watanabe and Yoshikazu Miyao

Loved it, but they really fucked up the ending in editing.

Yoshiura Yasuhiko, Naoko Yamada, Hiroyuki Imaishi.

Maki's arc easily tops all the other episodes in my opinion, but they're all really well directed. hoping he still stays at trigger for the time being

You have a good opinion.
I think the writing was at its best in that arc too.

What? Plenty of Sup Forumsnons have seen Nanoha S1, Hidamari S1/2, and SZS.

wasn't hidamari and SZS mainly Oishi though?

Oishi's not credited as director on any of them, and I don't know of any instance where Shinbo's completely stolen credit - he'll slap his name on as "chief director" and someone else will be the actual "director," or there'll be two co-directors and the one who isn't Shinbo will be doing the work (e.g. Oishi in Bake), but if Shinbo's the one credited "director" then I think it's him.

Oishi did one season for Hidamari, and I think an OP for SZS

He's only been the series director on Kiznaiver and one other series iirc.
That said, I think he did a good job with Kiznaiver.

iirc Oishi directed episode 1 of Hidamari x365 (the sakuga one with cheesy CGI) and that was all.

is yuki yase cool enough to join the decent directors club

Satou Junichi

Mekakucity was very poorly directed and Zaregoto is looking that way as well.

Nigga is only good as an episode director.

Yeah, Amanchu is really great, huh?
Has he done anything of note in this decade?

Tamayura and M3 are underrated.

I'll give you Tamayura but M3's ratings are right where they need to be.

i dont think yase had that much influence on mekakucity, he only really storyboarded and directed two episodes, Artificial Enemy and Heat Haze Daze, plus it had a ton of production issues working against it too, at least he's one of the few directors who actually uses Konno to the fullest

I'm hoping Zaregoto will be better, the character designs are a huge turn off for me, but i'm cautiously optimistic

Amanchu is Kasai. Sato's role on it is the same as Shinbo's role on everything SHAFT does.

>Tamayura
Please no

Do directors have any real say in who gets chosen to voice who?

If so then casting fucking Yuki Kaji as the MC is already a big minus in my book. I'm so sick of his voice yet he's fucking everywhere.

>i dont think yase had that much influence on mekakucity
He was the director though

I give him another chance because Zaregoto is less likely to go through production problems but it doesn't look so hot.

yeah i know, but mekakucity was such a mess i prefer not to count it as one of his works

the PV wasn't that bad, animation was a little stiff, but the whole thing's probably gonna look a lot better. the fact that were getting a PV this early means that production's going decent enough

Yuki Kaji did nothing wrong.

Yuki Kaji gets roles because he is good.

He's been great since Tiger and Bunny. I remember his episodes are the most solid of all series.

oh shit, he worked on T&B? What episodes did he do? after kiznaiver im basically going through this man's profolio now
