Don't post on Sup Forums much but I think you guys could help.

I know too well about how "anime clubs" go at high schools, but what about College? I just started out at one and don't really have any friends or anything to do outside of class, and noticed there's an anime club here.

Anyone with experience with anime clubs able to tell me how likely it is I'll meet some cool people, rather than filthy weeaboos?

Where the fuck are the mods right now? Kill yourself, normalfag.

Best piece of advice is not to go in assuming the worst of people, but if you feel uncomfortable then leave.

I must have missed a memo

I went to my colleges anime club once.
There were about 5 people there, and it was pretty bad. Besides the fact that they were watching and loving shit, one kid looked like he hadn't showered or cut his finger nails for a solid 5 years, and the rest weren't much better.
A QT Russian girl showed up half way through though, so maybe you'll get lucky.

>but what about College
Oh boy, its intresting...
I hung out at a college anime club for about a 6 month period, but I had to end that.
Not to talk too bad about the people at my club, they were good people. But you could tell that there were 3 kinds of people there.
1) The younger people who were directionless and happened to like anime so they showed up there
2) The older people (age 30-50) who were still there, and still directionless in life. This being one of the few clubs where they can still feel like they're in their eirly 20s and pretend that they're "still figuring out what they want to do"
3) The people who show up to play videogames (mainly fighting games) or talk about wrestling... because there wasn't specific clubs to do that with so they ended up there.

I was a mix of 1 and 3, and becoming 2 is what terrified me. I like the people, but it was a bit much.

Anime.

You should be ashamed of your hobbies, just like us.

>even fucking considering joining an anime club of any kind
You don't belong here.

I'm already apart of the best anime club.

this desu. popping in for a few minutes to get a feel for it won't kill you.

The anime club on my college had about 40 people, most of them were weeabos

I met a nice girl there so it was cool

Rate my Uni's anime watch list.

7/10

I ran one for two years. Don't fucking do it, the place is like flypaper for autistic losers. My moralfag self made the thing completely democratic and I still got accused of abuse of power by some of the girls there.

One day we voted to watch Total Eclipse so I came in wearing this old Soviet militia hat I picked up in Europe. They used that as an excuse to report me for offensive behavior and I was forced out. They took over, and I realized I'd been wasting my time on something pointless and moved on.

No Prisma or New game?
Seems like trash to me.

Normalfag and gay, fuck off.

Uni man.

They even tried to get the hat confiscated, I had to ship it home and say I had lost it.

no

Begin Japanology is the only good anime on that list.

source? reverse search pulls up nothing

Better then I expected

Usually anime club shit is bottom of the barrel

Where do you find a club like that?
Mine always goes something like

>Fairy Tail
>Tokyo Ghoul
>No Game No Life
>Sword Art Online
>One Piece

Basically shit that should only be watched to laugh at.

This is where things always go wrong at these sort of clubs, and really any sort of nerdy club. I learned my lesson from DnD groups, don't accommodate the retards because once they settle in it's impossible to get rid of them.

Name of the doujishin of the OP, Pls.

...

Who in their right mind would actually attend something like that?

Ha. Thats in downtown Portland.
Just closed recently (in the last year I think)
Shame, I was always curious what it was like in there when hentai was being shown.

Its hilarious since it was RIGHT next to Voodoo Doughnuts which is a massive tourist trap, and when that place had longs lines reaching in front of the theater you could always tall that adults with kids in line were really uncomfortable.

Just for Etotama is already a 10/10 list, the other shows are pretty good too, good taste.

When I was in high school back in 1996, the anime club was mostly showing VHS second or third generation fansubs, and a few domestically released titles. The leaders of the club picked what they wanted to watch and we watched it.

20 years later, anime clubs are almost all cancer because they are full of people that just want to watch Naruto, Dragonball, One Piece, and all the other big name shows.

Oh shit, you go to UH?
