Good, I like jinbe

Dull personality, uninteresting fighting style, unenthusiastic about his addition to the crew.

I hope he joins and look forward to it.

I also expect Cracker will sustain a minor scratch to the face and then succeed.
I expect Chopper/Carrot will infiltrate Mam's castle along with Brook/Pedro through a mirror.

This arc is getting fun.

I’ve been thinking about Sanji and Nami and their background stories and how they kind of seem to bring up similar themes in different ways. After the last few chapters, and everything we’ve learned about Sanji, I felt like it was time to share some of my thoughts. Nothing major, but rather something I’ve been thinking about from time to time through the years.

It’s interesting because especially now, thanks to recent revelations, looking at Sanji’s and Nami’s backgrounds I can’t help but see how they are almost the opposite of each other in some regards and yet very similar in other ways.
Nami grew up with Bellemere and Nojiko, who are not her ”real” family.
Sanji grew up with his real (blood) family.
Sanji grew up as a royal prince, (most likely) having almost everything. Except love.
Nami grew up quite poor, not having much. Except love.

secede not succeed sorry
Oda is setting him up for a surrender.

UROUGE FOR NEXT ALLIANCE MEMBER

Big Mom already killed him. Luffy + crew will find out and use that to fuel their rage against Big Mom.

Uninteresting ugly fat faggot.

Because of his interests and talents Sanji is shunned by his family and he is considered useless.
Because of her interests and talents Nami is praised by her family and when Arlong notices she’s revered for it and is considered useful.
We also have Nami (and her family) having food but little money, while Sanji (and Zeff) are stuck on that island with tons of money but no food. Nami’s story shows them in desperate need of money, while Sanji’s is about the desperate need for food. Both of them end up treasuring the thing they lacked. Nami never wastes money, and Sanji never wastes food.
We also have their stories being kind of reversed when it comes to the timeline.
Nami starts off with a happy childhood.
Sanji starts off with a crappy childhood.
Then they both reach a turning point.
Sanji leaves his family in some way and eventually gains freedom. Zeff takes him in and and Sanji basically gains a parent that he never had. He grows up a pirate.
Nami’s story is the opposite. She lost her parent and ended up becoming trapped on that island under the Arlong Pirates. She grows up hating pirates.

Jinbe is all around great, so he'll make a good addition.

We could also include that Nami’s birthparents died in a war, while Sanji’s birthfamily are known as warmongerers.
Of course these are just some random observations, and obviously big parts of their stories are not included in this setup at all, but I just thought it was interesting. I’m also curious to see if there will be any more parallels as we learn more about Sanji. But both stories are definitely some of my favorites of Oda’s, and have similar messages.
Sanji had an abusive family while Nami had a loving one, but in the end they both learned the same thing. Both Nami’s and Sanji’s stories are about how blood isn’t what makes a family, and personally I love that.

>I also expect Cracker will sustain a minor scratch to the face and then succeed.

Luffy has a wedding to crash and even Big Mom is hoping he will be there. You're in for some disappointment.

he is boring, he won't add much to the crew. He should be a better addition than Brook at least but that doesn't mean much.

Brook has had some decent utility post TS but not much personality.
He also hasn't contributed to fights all that much.

That could change this arc though.

>blight of the sea
i'd prefer Bellamy, he'd add conflict to Hats, since heis still kind of a dick

I really miss that feeling when you get that "holy shiiit he/she is joining the crew is going to be even more awesome" feeling. I really don't get that feeling with Jinbe desu.

Interesting indeed i didn't see all those similarities.

Bellamy coming back would be good for one thing and one thing only.

When and if Luffy loses his shit hard, Bellamy gives him the same sort of punch he got from him. Like, we get another Ace-is-dead style freakout because stuff went down, and Luffy's just rampaging in rage or despair, and in that moment of weakness Bellamy is able to knock him out so he stops embarrassing himself... I think that'd be cool.

>Former shichibukai
>Unique fishmen fighting style
>Potentially has knowledge of the NW

I dunno, could be cool.

I do think he should be the last one though.

we need 10 besides luffy since BB has the 10 titanic captains

>fishman
>cool design
>pretty strong
>unique fighting style, especially underwater
>looks like he'd fit in with Robin personality wise as the more mature members of the crew

He'll make a good helmsman/devil fruit user retriever/underwater fighter for the SH's.

I just want one character to come back before one piece ends.

The one and only MR.2
BON CLAY

I dont think many would object too him joining the strawhats after the impel down arc.

Oda had a good opportunity to make the greatest recruit with fat Hody jones.

The crew need a bad guy like him and it would have been cool to see him change from a racist asshole to a cool and loyal guy towards Luffy and the crew..

In this regard, Bellamy comes off better as a rival/ally. The kind that repsects you immensely and wants to overcome you but will slap your shit if he sees you acting less than what you're capable of. Plus his powers are way too similar to Luffy to be on the team.

Jinbe fills my fishman quota and looks like he could be the ultimate voice of reason in that crew of maniacs since he's way older and wiser. And he's a capable fighter without a devil fruit. I'm almost done rewatching fishman island and he already feels like family so I understand if his joining isn't the hypest. We're already quite comfortable with him.

Best boy.

Jinbe is boring because he is already complete unlike the others straw hats who started from nothing. He is already at his peak for fighting, his personality won't change and he already sacrified his life for Luffy 10 times, and he has pretty much seen everything already.

But he was a doper. And doping is an inexcusable crime.

But I agree. It would be cool if some incredibly ningen hating fishman was a side character throughout Fishman Island and resented the Strawhats but eventually saw some light and joined them.

Do we even need a new strawhat anyway?
we already have the cook, the docter, the navigator and the musician.
And whatever robin does.

>In this regard, Bellamy comes off better as a rival/ally.
That's kind of what I thought too. He joins with the dream to be strong enough to be strongh enough to beat Luffy fair and square, no baggage or cheap tricks, and make sure Luffy's not falling off the wagon either. In turn, he helms the ship (springs are good shock absorbers for holding the wheel straight) and fights alongside the crew.

This. We don't need any new crewmembers.

you can't deny that Cedar would create more conflict, which I honestly like. Same with Bellamy. Jinbe is comfy and that's it for me. Maybe I need to reread older chapters, get into his hype.

Hopefully this fat fucking fish and failure of a pirate (this dude trades allegiances like all of your mothers trade men) will do us the favor and filet himself.

what about their upcoming scientist?

So, after the heated discussion between the Monetfag and the Antimonetfags, I decided to make some strawpolls to see how everyone thinks about this.

>What happened to Monet and did she die or not
strawpoll.me/11162392

> If she were to be alive, what do you think is her place in the storyline
strawpoll.me/11162410

>If she is dead or were to theoretically die, what do you think happened with her DF on Punk Hazard?
strawpoll.me/11162440

>What relevance will the fruit have to the story going forewards, if she did in fact die?
strawpoll.me/11162464

I am incurably upset about the fact that I'm posting in the Jinbe thread instead of the Cracker one.

>your friend is dead
>just kidding
>Minks hate humans
>just kidding
>we'll make sure the samurai don't show up
>just kidding
>Raizou isn't here
>just kidding
>I can't use ninjutsu
>just kidding
>Inuarashi and Nekomamushi hate each other
>just kidding
>Jack is dead
>just kidding
>Jack is going to kill Zunisha
>just kidding
>Sanji being an actual prince
>Momonosuke is super special^^
>Oden was turned into soup (is this funny or sad or..?) even though he's probably alive
>yeah we knew Roger
>yeah we knew Whitebeard
>yeah we all know each other
>yeah his dad went to Raftel
>yeah you're gonna' become Pirate King for sure

If you really like exposition, false flags and reaffirming what special snowflakes the major characters are, then yeah, Zou was right up your alley.

Monet greets Jinbe to the crew!

Calendar for 2017

Carrot will be the Straw Hats' _______!

lookout

>Scientist
>Franky and Usopp are already good enough mechanics/inventors, Franky more so

Only villains and governments use chemical weapons. But Caesar is still too good to let go.

They should've have gotten one with Luffy and Hancock.

Jinbe is not even popular. Yet he's got a ton of screentime since Impel Down. He is behind Bepo, Riku, and freaking Rebecca. The best he can do is dying during this current arc but too bad it's not happening.

I don't like any OP character, I just hate Bellamy.
What ____fag am I?

doffyfag

You're just a fag

A fishman on the crew would be pretty badass, and Jinbe would be a nice choice.

But yeah, I agree with the rest that he isn't really interesting but who knows, maybe this Big Mom arc will make him less boring.

>Bellamyfags

Not a position.

Helmsman and apprentice are. That's it.

No, shut the fuck up, don't even respond with your bullshit. Not a single character in the series has been called a "lookout." The Straw Hats are missing two roles on a ship and that's it. Fuck you.

doffyfag obviously

The Sanji Nami actors from One Piece Tokyo tower.

Probably because he's such a boring dad character. No one wants their dad on a pirate adventure.

Reminder that Nami likes girls

>Not thinking everyone in this thread,.no this site, is a fag by default

>including Lucy with Luffy so he doesn't lose to Law

wew

>brook barely in the top 20
yohohoho..hoho...ho

More calendar stuff.
Choose 1 of the 4.

>mfw patiently waiting for Bonney to join

pure autism: the post

Actually my assumption is while the crew's heading to Wano Monet and Jinbe have a chat and she hears why he got so devoted to Luffy, and in turn starts reflecting on her own personal goals and devotions. Part of her Dofla Detox, you see, seeing the other side of a 'family crew'.

what does doffyfag even mean?

>Defaultfags

...

Vivi. Best fucking girl imaginable. Even if you're just a normal guy. Second would be Tashigi.

>Spee D.readers

>Luffy is 5'8

>the germa genocided Nami's country.
In the canon it was just a war, every native was slaughtered except Nami and Nojiko.

People who think Doffy is admiral level and stuff along those lines. They're upset he got BTFO is all.

yeah fuck me for not browsing OP general threads every single day. I have better things to shitpost about than who to ship.

what do you even mean, jeff?!

>Thatch more popular than
>Blackbeard
>Garp
>Dragon

What the fuck, man?

Is that a sexual proposition?

>What the fuck, man?
Right? I can't believe he's fucking dead...

Woah. I don't like Doflamingo as a character but he was definitely on the same realm of skill as an Admiral, which would make him on their level.

>43. Pell
>45. Kaku
>50. Marguerite
>52. Penguin
>57. Monet

Mihawk vs Fujitora: who wins?

Yeah, such a shame about A6CE

Mihawk wins this

>doesn't know what a Doffyfag is
>is really a Doffyfag
Doffyfag

Akainu

>pirate scum may die
>marine rebel may die

doffyfags are doffyfags

>Jobhawkfags
No, he doesn't. It won't be purely a sword fight you dumb faggot.

Mihawk has beat Rayleigh to get his WSS title so he should be able to beat Fujitora as well.

You missdefined a term and I pointed out your error. No admiral ever harmed Doflamingo even though two attacked him. Speculating that he would lose is ok, but speculating that they are beyond his level when it was shown that's not the case is pure fan fiction.

So? Having a devil fruit doesn't mean shit.

>Doffyfags actually think he's even close to admiral level
kek

implying Mihawk would not be an admiral if he was a marine. implying Zoro's endgoal isn't admiral level. In whichat delusional world are you living?

kek.

>df don't mean shit.
>Jobhawkfags are going to start with their delusion again

>not an argument
Use your words kiddo

>half the cast of One Piece was on the Oro Jackson at one point or another
Post-series prequel spin-off when?

franky is shipwright and usopp is the sniper.

he's a SCIENTIST. he can do fun lab shit with chopper.

>he speedreads the manga

What if Nami is Sanji's sister

I forgot it was actually hachi who fucked nami over by finding the maps

wasn't he the one who spotted bell-mere's house too? surprised they redeemed him

Then Sanji will marry his sister.

They should be fired for acting out of character

I can't wait to see all these delusional reactions when it will be said that Mihawk is easily on admiral level and that he beat the Pirate King's right hand to get his title.

Will he job to zolo?

They don't get fired because they are following the manga. Oda told them Sanji and Nami will kiss this arc. It's just a huge spoiler.

>if I use buzzwords they'll think I'm right

That's the whole purpose of his character. That's why we know he is a jobber.

Monet is a worthless green haired whore.
