Was it an asspull?

Was it an asspull?

Yep so was this.
>Oh Muh rubber Nen

Along with my heart! and lungs!

>Was it an asspull?
Not as big as Alluka's powers, actually Pitou's incoherent and illogical behaviour annoyed me much more than gon-san himself.

Nope, we all knew about nen contracts and could see Gon heading towards a breakdown throughout the whole arc.

Regardless, 'asspull' is one of the weakest, most pointless criticisms possible and only comes from people who can't come up with a more thoughtful criticism than pointing out superficial plot holes. At worst, it's a lack of foreshadowing or precedent, and neither of those things necessarily detract from the value the scene adds to the story.

This pissed me off so much. Hisoka is no longer a badass, there's nothing more to his character, just let him die. Fuck him for killing Shalnark.

>it's not an asspull but by definition it's an asspull but shut up who cares

Fuck off.

Hisoka is a genius, he learned Ten in a week, something that took Gon and Killua months.

It is no asspull a genius like that could manipulate Nen to a degree that it would follow his orders after death

Looks more like a hair pull.

>Was something that was caused by a previously established function of nen an asspull
No.

And Alluka wasn't an asspull either because Alluka's power is literally a major part of the dark continent arc.

No, but almost everything after it is. Wish-granting trap brother is just inexcusable.

I like to pretend the series ended with the world tree anyway.

My second comment has nothing to do with Gon san, which I pretty clearly stated isn't an asspull in any way. It was just a general observation because I'm sick of it's overuse on Sup Forums.

Thank god he killed him. I hated when he always had that shitty oblivious face on. I guess he was one of the innocent ones but still fuck him

Which would be nice if Togashi would finish HxH during our lifetime

>any spider
>innocent
What did you mean by this?

Don't be silly user. It is far more likely he won't finish it in his life time.

>Hisoka is no longer a badass
>Killed my favorite characters

He explained how nen works through emotions and about nen contracts how many chapters ago?
But of course don't mix the two because it results in an asspull and make pitoufags cry

No, but Alluka was.

How does Alluka's powers being relevent in an arc after he was introduced, not make his introduction an asspull?

You're a monster. Kortopi didn't deserve to go either. Neither did Uvogin. All of the spiders should go live happily on an island together.

Because Togashi is actually going somewhere with him. He wasn't introduced as a convenient resolution for Gon's issue, he was introduced because he is possessed by one of the calamities from the Dark Continent who was likely brought back by Zigg.

The question is whether Alluka's existence itself is an asspull. I want to say no, but because HxH is never going to be finished we won't ever know.
Choosing to introduce him right after though was super shitty.

>Nen contracts
>The more you sacrifice the greater the power
no because he gave up everything

>Thinking there was ever anything more to Hisoka's character.

Keke.

I would ask if everything needs foreshadowing for it not to be bad writing. But that's all subjective.

Initially, he was a creepy badass, but he's lost that and become a really boring villain who just wants to fight strong opponents. The shock value decayed. Now the Phantom Troupe are a far more interesting bunch than he is, I would have preferred if he died.

He spared Machi, maybe there will be something there.

no, this was

Who knows, maybe it's not his time yet.

No, but him ever recovering from using it was.

You're right, it's one of the greatest examples of absolute dogshit writing in shonen history AND an asspull to boot.

What would you prefer instead? "Oh my rubber tits"?

No she wasn't, you're thinking of Nanika.

He's still a wild card. I can see him teaming up with team Leorio just to get at the Spiders since he has a common enemy with Kurapika again.

I still think he could replace Monkey in the Zodiacs too when Monkey gets ousted for being a spy since Kurapika and Leorio kind of fit the Boar and Rat descriptions and Hisoka kind of fits the Monkey. Even if it's just an temporary position.

People always call out Gon, but never Kurapika's bullshit ability.

>1/3rd year of Nen training
>Can already create a psychic chain that can instantly kill anyone he doesn't like, even if it's some of the strongest Nen users

Watch more Shonen please.

Also, I think it's worth noting that Alluka being the only one with their back turned and not showing up during the Zoldyck mini-arc foreshadowed that there was something up with her.

Wow, Illumi actually looks fucking normal.

No thanks, HxH was bad enough.

What was bad about it?

His ability is extremely limited since it can only be used on the troupe or else he instantly dies. Literally useless.

I'm glad after the therapy with Chrollo, Hisoka changed a lot! Can't wait to see for him to kill Phinx and Feitan.

That infuriated me. To hell with this uninteresting, bishie revenge story faggot. His only redeeming quality is being a warm hole for Leorio.

>Literally useless.
>Only targets Troupe members

He's not Killua or Leorio. He made it clear that he doesn't give a shit about Gon's adventures on multiple accounts, but will help if it intersects with his own goals.

The main ability namely chain jail could instantly render target unable to use nen without needing much of steps to activate.

But it only could be use for genei ryodan or he dies... not so useful.
genei ryodan could sent someone else to kill him if needed.

Emperor time however is pretty hax, it could alter individual nen preferance and virtually could make Kurapika excel in every type of nen.

First time it used continuously(yorksihn), it render kurapika unconcious for days. Second time kurapika appears(royal), he could spam it without much repercussion.

Yeah I'm sure his abilities won't show their limitation when he has to take down Bateman's bodyguards

The definition of asspull. Made me drop the manga

It's been hinted and conditioning have become part of verses rule.
Not to mention there is another arc just to make gon recover from it.

Alluka/nanika is a clever nen rule trolling done by the author

but rubber nen is a bit much and could be handled better.

>He's still a wild card
His motives are almost inescapably boring. Something with Machi is the most that could be hoped for, other than that I want him to fuck off. He's so likely to win fights that it kills tension.

What do you think are his motives?

He still could use emperor time and assortment of abilities that came with it.

The one that is limited to Genei Ryodan is the Chain Jail and Chain jail only.
But rendering target to be unable to use nen without much steps to pull is properly hax technique which understandable that it require much restriction.

I want to fight strong people. I want to make Chrollo mad at me so killing him is more satisfying. I want to diddle boys. I want to regenerate my hands with ease later but fail to do so in an actual fight.

Judgement Chain alone makes the ability overpowered enough. Ignoring the fact it can kill it's target regardless of Nen level, it has no range, it's detachable, and it has no negative conditions on Kurapika as long as he only uses it on a Troupe member. Not to mention he can use this multiple times.

Imagine a complete amateur of Nen had the same ability and wanted to kill a world leader.

Yet people complain about Gon, who uses an ability that last for only 2-3 minutes and could kill him unless healed after use and even when he's healed he loses the ability to use Nen.

Why do you think Kurapika has his own organization now? He clearly knows his limitations on his regular abilities.

These were foreshadowed a long time ago. Same with Alluka. If you guys weren't speedreading, maybe you would have caught on all the details. HxH doesn't have any real flaws aside from being on hiatus all the time.

It's on hiatus because the guy has been drawing manga for almost 30 years. Toriyama and Miura take multiple breaks also.

>Feitan
This probably will happen. Maybe Hisoka will get blown up by Feitan's sun thing and then return with a body that's made completely of rubber. Maybe he'll revive four more times or so before the series is done.

I'm pretty sure it is on hiatus because Togashi is dying but won't come out and say it.

I'll call them speedreaders so I don't have to back up my claim

you forgot your meme arrow speedreader

>implying their breaks are even remotely comparable to his hiatuses
stop enabling him

I'd like to pull my dick out of alluka's ass, then push it in again, then pull it out again. Then in again.

>HxH doesn't have any real flaws aside from being on hiatus all the time.
Delusion at its finest

>These were foreshadowed a long time ago.

Where was it foreshadowed then?

do you really want to feel stupid when you get #told something everyone else is already aware of?

Are you gonna downvote him?

nen's just a really stupid, garbage system, and authorially convenient.

hxh is good but that's despite nen

upvoted

>HxH doesn't have any real flaws
how fucking delusional can you be?

>spouts bullshit
>refuses to back it up
>openly mocks people asking him to back it up
all signs of being a fucking retard

The idea, no.
It turning Gon into an unstoppable monster and not outright killing him, yes.

Are you trying to 0/10 me or are you actually that stupid? Have you not read the entire thread talking about nen contracts or do you just show up to shitpost?

How about you read the 100 other "is this an asspull" threads about HxH where this has been refuted every time.

Hunter X Hunter is very flawed but it is still my favorite manga. There are a lot of lesser arcs and some dumb stuff, but the greatest parts of it (Yorknew, second half of Chimera Ant, even the Hunter Exam) are incredible.

>no flaws
>the abomination that is the chimera ant arc
>the god awful art at times
>the hack writing that is alluka
>some pretty blatant asspulls
>the hiatuses are absolutely ridiculous
>togashi is a lazy shit

Are what immediately come to mind

Not really an asspull; but him getting healed was definitely an asspull. Now the author is struggling to figure out a way to even keep Gon relevant in the story. It's going to take another asspull to give him his nen powers back.

>>the abomination that is the chimera ant arc
Stopped reading there

Why would Gon need Nen to be relevant in the story? This isn't a series about fighting.

And Gon doesn't have to be relevant anyway. He has reached his goal and now is slowly finding a new one.

It ok, I knew you didn't have an argument in the first place.

I like HxH threads

>Pitou's incoherent and illogical behaviour
What did she do that was illogical?

komugi and the king are god-tier characters
King vs Netero is a godly fight.

Actual use of the ja-jaken in a fight ( greed island , the whole system wasn't even properly finished )
Killua realising that his brother nerfed his habilities out of fear

Killua realising that he couldn't follow gon anymore after a certain point.

The best version of north korea in manga anime/EVER

The chimera ant arc is freaking awesome

HxH is literally perfect and flawless in every way and I'll fucking kill you and bash you to death if you disagree with me.

become a kawaii desu nya moeblob

>anime only faggots thinks alluka is "foreshadowed" just because she was shown on a photograph when she was already ass pulled on manga ages ago

I bet you faggots didn't even watch the first HxH.

not him, but seconding all of this.

Obligatory reply image for speedreaders and retards.

No need to false flagging. Your stupidity is showing.

Yes, but it works within the rules of the universe, so it's not bad.

All the spiders are destined to die, but Togashi gave them an entire arc and mini arcs to make you feel angry when they did, even if they are complete monsters in the first place.

it's in the manga you colossal retard

a lil bit.

kurapika already proved you could get crazy shit through contracts, but becoming that strong in return for so little is. Even ignoring the wish granting shit that followed, Gon was fine for a really long time compared to Kurapiika who would have his heart pierced if he used it on anyone not from the troupe.

It also opens up the door to
>Why haven't any other nen user facing someone of immeasurable power tried to do the same thing?
with no real answer.

All spiders deserve horrible death, no? They are either unrepentant mass murderers or have no problem helping ones.

>inb4 foreshadowing
Yeah, you know, this character could use scissors as his main weapon, totally not an asspull that he can cut souls, nen and gravity out of nowhere, such a god tier writing.

> He made it clear that he doesn't give a shit about Gon's adventures on multiple accounts
It's time to stop shitposting without backup sources. Post any panel where it happens. And Killua blamed Gon for his own problems, he's the most shittiest friend, not Kurapika. Read the Election arc.

>posting 2011
Yeah I'm sure you wrote a review and post it on MAL too retarded speedwatcher. At the very least study pages of the manga where Kurpika explained his ability to the gang.

what shitty scans used that font in the "he couldn't forgive himself" page?

Probably online scan. I only took it from the archive. The image itself is pretty old considering the retards keep spamming the same question in most HxH threads.
I blame animeonlyfags.

Is Hisoka a good guy?

Holy shit, mini-Kalluto is adorable.

anyone who slays filthy spiders is alright in my book

>Gon's a special snowflake so he can do whatever the writer wants him to do

What a great explanation. Even trash like Naruto establishes the MC is special because he has a demon inside of him and shows early on in the story that it can make him really powerful. ShitxShit waits 200+ chapters before it reveals that gon is actually super saiyan jesus with no explanation other than "potential"
