Art is an abstract. Not everyone would have the same interpretation if they see the same art. That's why it's pretentious.
Interpreting between different languages and understanding the meaning and intentions behind the words is just as varied, user.
In a way, the art was also one of MP's strong points even as manga. ONE's paneling and composition is still top notch, something the anime cannot imitate.
