Mc is still interesting to me desu, I want to learn his motivations this upcoming season. This guy is definitely interesting to watch, but MC still pulls his weight

I really dont get him. At the one hand they try to pitch him as the nice human kind of ajin that tries to do good, like with the doctor he saves. Then they try to make him a sociopathic dude who doesnt give a shit. And he suddenly says he only saved the doctor to get him indebted to him. Even though that never came up when he was busy saving the doctor.

He's a highly functioning sociopath. He followed what was considered to be kind and righteous human to the point of absurdity (e.g being fine with torture). Basically like a robot imitating regular humans. Eventually th gig was up/pointless and h stopped trying, or at least that was general portrayal.

Really though the original writer left and the artist who took over didn't want to write about a goody two shoes MC and would rather write about an intelligient sociopathic one.

Honestly i think the story was better off for especially if you go a read what the original writer ditched it to write about. Artist seemed to have thought through a properly fleshed out this manga likely moreso than he original writer would of.

Pay attention. There was an important thing he said that you missed.
He *thought* very hard about why he saved the doctor, and in the end he realized that it was because the doctor would be useful later.

He is not a sociopath. He is an unhealthily rationally thinking person. But that doesn't mean he doesn't feel anything.
Think back to when he was being killed again and again and again by those scientists.
He said he wouldn't kill (because of his friend)

What he feels is subtle, and he can easily ignore it, usually without even realizing that he had an emotion at all. That's why the audience has to pay even more attention.

Guts is such a fucking disgrace by now that Griffith is basically the new hero of the story. At this point Guts is just some buttblasted guy who can't let go of a grudge.

So basically he only loses because he thinks he wins until its too late

The manga get more interesting as it when on. If it got a good anime adaptation it could easily be an entry anime.

He's a pretty archetypal case of "pride was his downfall". People just get buttblasted because the series throws all these pointless video game stats at you that end up having 0 bearing on anything and contradicting what we're shown. Statistically he's the strongest, but he's defeated because he didn't want to lower himself to using his super OP weapon on a mere kid and gets btfo as a result.

This probably wouldn't be seen as a big deal if he didn't job in actual stupid ways in the other two routes (well okay just HF where he doesn't even try to defend himself for no reason at all, in Fate Saber was the one with the OP hax shit)

It was because they didn't try to explain him, justify his actions, or make him deep and complex. In a series with so many storylines, motivations, and plots to follow, having a character that was so basic made him unique and enjoyable in his own right.

In other shounen manga, there are various points where you hear people say they dropped the story or stopped reading. For Bleach, the near unanimous point where the majority of people who stopped reading it did is when Aizen was beat. Because what the fuck even matters after this guy?

apart from the first few fully 3d episodes, I would say the anime was decent, though it did skip a ton of shit and it does lack the gore of the manga.

I never wanted a villain to win so bad like him.

It was meant to lead into a battle between a non-criminal psychopath and a genuine sociopath. They both lack empathy but Kei isn't asocial, whereas Saito is completely asocial. It's a surprisingly nuanced conflict between the two. Both acknowledge that they don't feel empathy but one aggressively uses logic to drive his goals while the other disregards it entirely for personal enjoyment.

I partically like the one where posing with the moon and trees grow, i would still had in my pc if it didn't fuck up last time

Pretty much the VN's Give stats for shit but anything not describing how someones bullshit magic doodad works is pretty much worthless.

In the VN route's you get the following.

Fate route: Die's to saber because she had a super OP item that was secretly hidden in the MC's ass.

UBW: Die's because he underestimates the MC and plays around instead of just killing him. Oh and the MC has a power up that JUST so happens to hard counter Gil.

HF: Eaten by a tentacle monster after he just sort of stands around and does shit for 30 seconds.

Fate/CCC You can get Gil without the Jobbing and he's fucking awesome.
