Episode 125: 烈火の竜 - Rekka no Ryū (The Blazing Dragon) As Yuya and Yuto try to save Ruri, Serena appears before them. As according to the Doctor’s plan, the Parasite Monsters drive Yuya and Yuto into a corner. Then, something abnormal happens to Yuya!
Episode 126: 悪魔が生まれた日 – Akuma ga Umareta Hi (The Day the Devil was Born) As Yuri attempts to turn Sora into a card, Yugo appears before him and challenges Yuri to a Duel. While a fierce battle between Yuri and Yugo unfolds, Yusho, as well as Reiji and others, manage to reach Akaba Leo. Leo begins speaking about the Demon Duelist who leads the world to destruction, as well as the four dragons. What is the reason that the world is divided into four dimensions?

Yeah but there's no reason to think the person can't break free themselves. We saw it with Ruri and how the Doctor remarked that his current brainwashing technique wasn't good enough and how he needed more data.
What might happen is Leo realizes Yuya is getting ever so closer to his castle, so he dispatches fodder to take care of Shun but it's a decoy to kidnap Ruri where she's subjected to a double dose of parasites and pitted against Yuya and Yuto to stop them

Not every deck has easy-access, searchable removal. In fact, even in meta decks it's not exactly the most common thing. Blue-Eyes just has protection out the ass and boardspam, but if you flip Vanity's on Turn 2's Standby they basically just have to wait until they get MST or Twin Twisters.
