He is literally a meme.
HOW DO WE STOP THIS MADMAN!?
Nah, for me its more like:
>funny at first
>then annoying second and third times
>but after like the fifth time it gets really funny again
He's pretty much the human embodiment of Japanese humor.
Holy shit you hit it on the bullseye, most Japanese humor is annoying annoying annoying FUCKING HILARIOUS then 10 more "annoyings"
How does he possess people? Is there some sort of requirement?
His wise magical negro book
Anything is possible with M E M E M A G I C
I know the exact spell incantation he used
Please go back to tumblr with your shitty gifs.
>Aini
That's a real life name
Spirit users. As long as they don't have spirits with them, he can forcefully contract and possess their bodies. He could also possess Julius, if he got rid of the spirits he had on him.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
How did Subaru got possessed? He had that red spirit.
Why did the red spirit leave in the first place if Sloth can't possess anyone who have spirit on them?
Red spirit went back to Julius. No spirits near Subaru + the fact that Subaru can make contracts with spirits like with Beatrice back in episode 7, it was easy for Betelgeuse to have a new host.
>burrows into your subconscious and takes over
...just like a meme...
His character isn't the same when he switches bodies, I wish he stayed in this one because his VA is so fucking good.
Also, don't talk to me unless you ship SabGuse
why does crunchyroll mispell his name
its petelguese
No, nips fucking messed up and mistakened the B with a P symbol (they look very similar but Betelgeuse is a B). Betelgeuse is named after the star. So it's correct.
but I just said why did the spirit left in the 1st place? Julius was even surprised by that so that means Sloth can make the spirits go away anyway so he can possess anyone?
Betelgeuse is a spirit, and he's about 402 years old. He was old enough to have met Flugel; and built their relationship to the point Flugel gives Betelgeuse a black box. Before he became an archbishop he was an upright and rational man. He also used to be the leader of a group of moderate witch cultists, the ones who don't crazily kill everything. He went to Emilia's old elf village for some reason (there is something important there so maybe he moved there because of it) and moved in with Emilia's aunt Fortuna. Emilia called him "Juice" as a nickname...it was like a happy family until the archbishop of greed, the witch of vainglory and the radical witch cult attacked the village they were occupying. The witch of vainglory came as there was something important in the village, Betelgeuse had no choice but to open the black box which contained the witch of sloth's genes; giving him the authority of sloth. Betelgeuse was incompatible with the genes, causing him to slip a little (incompatibility with witch genes cause severe mental problems, Satella is an example of this, she formed a split personality). During the fight the witch of vainglory used her authority (vainglory can rewrite phenomena) and made Betelgeuse kill Fortuna accidentally...either Betelgeuse blamed himself for lack of effort and went mad because of it or Pandora did some fucked up shit with her authority to make Betelgeuse not feel pain, but LOVE for the fact he killed her.
Archbishops always say they are the opposite of their sins. Wrath is full of love, Greed presents himself as unselfish and Lust has the most revolting personality; but they are guilty of their sin. Betelgeuse doesn't seem like it, but he is slothful.
And also because he's a spirit if there is someone without a spirit he can force a one way contract to take over their bodies; and there is also an issue of compatibility. Subaru was a perfect vessel
How slothful
Shit character desu. Don't know why anyone finds him entertaining
The author said there's a reason why it is spelled with a "P". Did you really think no one would notice an obvious mistake and not tell the author?
>keeps coming back after getting killed
>endless devotion to the witch and whatever the fuck "love" is to him
>never stops pursuing cult's goals
>knows the gospel in an out
For the archbishop of sloth, he's pretty diligent.
I will never unsee this. The horror has been burned into the deepest regions of my memory.
Still fucking slothful. He ain't using his real body and letting his hands and fingers do all the work.
How can I be perfect like Betelgeuse?
That sounds like someone used a random event generator or something, and then strung a story together from the results.
Wrong. Julius was disturbed under the fact that he took his spirit back too early. Betelgeuse can't drive out spirits. He forced the contract WHILE THERE WERE NO SPIRITS NEAR SUBARU. So spirits can't do shit. Understand simple logic.
Ah, god, i need a breather. My sides
Take a damn hint and re-watch the episode.
60 fps tv anime when?
I rewatched it and the screen shaked to simulate possession then the spirit left him. That means he got possessed while the spirit is on him.
Julius even said the spirit got flung from his body and he was surprised. It means it wasn't him who took out that spirit.
>I hate other websites because I'm an elitist asshole and nobody likes me
ok
Go back and read some dictionary ESLfag. Julius said the spirit was taken out of Subaru unexpectedly.
Hmmm... something is rather strange. There was a fact that Subaru died a little more times than what was shown in the LN and anime. He died after possession once and ended up killing himself and Wilhelm. And the anime and LN removed that death and ended up with that one death we saw. Plus there was this detail.
>Settling himself into Subaru's body, Betelgeuse appraised Julius, Ferris, and Wilhelm's bodies while abusing himself, coming to the conclusion that Julius' body work as a finger if he got rid of the "vile" Spirits.
Now I can see. It has to do with contracts. Betelgeuse went to Subaru as his last resort. He can get into anyone. As long as they don't have a contract in particular. Subaru didn't have a contract anyways.
>As a Spirit, Betelgeuse can possess others' bodies, with Subaru describing it as a forcible one way contract. Compatibility varies between people, as he mentioned that Subaru's body was optimal while Ferris and Wilhelm's bodies were incompatible for various reasons. To make other people into his fingers, he adds a magic to their body that seemingly makes them compatible, so it can be assumed that he can possess people with the Witch's Scent but needs to make normal people into his fingers first. He used this over and over to live for 402 years until he was killed at the end of Arc 3.
I hope this clears up anything about his possessions
