is there a market for motherboard repair. Wouldn't it be cheaper to by a new machine? I cant imagine learning a niche trade and only charging 80-100 bucks to fix a delicate thing like a motherboard.

He does laptop repairs. It’s “worth it” for certain clientele willing to dole out cash for the repair. But even he concedes data recovery and moving to a new system is often the better option.

Ah. I noticed in the iOS notes that the update affected repairs done by independent “repairshops” which seems like the first time they acknowledge their software “forces” people to use their own repair people.
