Certainly very interesting, very strange how there is nothing else like this in africa, its almost as if this was the one and only worthwhile tribe and it got killed off early.

...

pic related is something you see happening more and more in the Netherlands: newly build houses inspired by some classic Dutch housing styles.

I wish the eyesore pyramid wasn't here..

I did some research and of course it was pushed for by the socialist party of France as well as several prominent Jews.

No it's actually Dutch. We were part of the Hansa.

>From 1563, for over a century, the post of town master builder was held by architects from the Netherlands.[21] Entire streets were designed in Dutch Renaissance style.[22]

It was actually the slave trade that fueled the economy of Benin and other such kingdoms. :^)

Kind of sad really, but no different from a feudal lord taxing the shit out of serfs and being able to build castles and churches with the money.

You have good taste, my fellow Dutch user
What do you think of Leiden?

Have a couple from Québec.

Oratoire St-Joseph, Montréal.

there's this thing called neomayan in my city, it's very hit or miss imo, but it's certainly interesting

i like this pic a lot

...

Such beauty brings a tear to my eye

Basilique Notre-Dame, Montréal.

Yeah that was my next one.
Château Frontenac, Québec city.

Lithuania, what are you even trying to do here?

That parts of Gdansk were reconstructed after the war doesn't change the fact that many of the buildings are in Dutch Renaissance style.

Completed in 1382. Still the tallest building in the city to date.

Did you really build something or simply post pictures?

Never actually been there but they say it's one of the best preserved cities.

Caserne Letourneux, Montréal.
(it's a firefighter building)
