It is just me ?

It is just me ?
I feel like everyone is more brutal in these days and worst is they don'y even have self aware for this
even in cartoons for kids is no exception . where dose warming feeling and optimism in 80s-90s go ?

after 2001, everything has been increasingly seen as brutal, while at the same time it has increasingly been turning quite the opposite.

Yeah I've noticed this too, particularly amongst ledditors. They're all so nihilistic and defend their hedonism by saying "we're all on a giant floating space rock and nothing I do matters at all LEL".

As an optimist it kills me. It's like a fucking contest to see who's the most unhappy and unfulfilled.

Brutal times require brutal actors. You can still sit on the sidelines and pretend nothing in the World affects you, you can hide and live you life as you see fit, assuming your government allows it. But yes, the partisanship is ramping up. The internet has allowed free thought to flourish (temporarily, in some areas) and people are waking up to the fact that we the people, as a whole, are being manipulated on a grand scale, and naturally, many people are pissed off. The enemies, controllers of the media, also realise, so they ramp up their propaganda campaign.

My advice, first, is stop watching media. They don't have your interests in mind. If you want to become in fighting back, great, we welcome you. If you want to retreat to a secluded rural area, I don't blame you. I'm trying to balance both, which I think anyone with those option should do.

>where dose warming feeling and optimism in 80s-90s go
Those days had a completely different Leitkultur, which you can see by the television shows that were produced. Look at the cartoons for children, what kind of values did they promote? What did they teach each episode, week after week?

And now compare this to the current Zeitgeist, and current cartoons. Ask the same question.

>Brutal times require brutal actors
Nonsense. In the 80ies the wall still stood in Berlin, and people could have been nuked any moment in time. Cool war. Ever heard of that one?

>My advice, first, is stop watching media.
This, however, is key. People aren't as individual and independent as they think they are. But it doesn't just stop by turning off the telly. All the people around you are still watching.

Jews

basically

>watching Adult Swim after 2009

Even by 2009, Adult Swim was shit.

The first season of China, IL was the last good thing they produced.

Even World Peace was shit, Sam's/MDE's YouTube stuff is way better.

Venture Brothers is the last good thing on that network and I think that's about to go off air.

Adult Swim was good until they started adding shows with actual humans which was around 2006.

The only show that had humans on it that they managed to pull off was Delocated.

2005 was really the start of the decline of AS, which means it has been shit for most of its life span.

or because WW1-2 teach people to have kind heart ? by show them the real brutal of wars

>Look at the cartoons for children, what kind of values did they promote? What did they teach each episode, week after week?
Machiavellian office politics?

>everyone is more brute these days
Yeah nah,of anything we have become shameless & weak

It is to inflict subtle trauma into the subconscious.

These 'microtraumas' aim to implant the idea that human life has little value, thereby lowering one's self esteem; Being that we are human...

>shows with actual humans
Space Ghost was good...

Well, yes. It was all about the collective. The greater good. But not really on "that" scale. With respect to cartoons the focus was the group, the commune, not so much the nation. It was all a metaphor, sure. But it wasn't all wrong either. Compare this to the individualisms of these days. Oh boy...

I just tuned in for the anime shows they aired, mostly. I was quite a bit Japonophilic that whole decade, since anime first took off in the late '90s, and found American cartoons less and less interesting (not enough action, adventure, and mystery themes). I'm not really aware of what Adult Swim's original programming was like, though. Could you give me your opinions?

Remember all those shows like little house and full house and brady bunch?
Times sucked mega fucking dick and everyone was drunk back then so TV was an escape.
Now a days everything is so boring and mediocre that we need some ruck in our lives.

This.

I think the rise of the execution-style shot in the head in movies is part of this. It's always shown all the way through; the porny focus on this specific kind of killing doesn't exist in old movies.

But why?

Metalocalypse was a flash of greatness too soon taken from the world

They had super fucked up stuff in the 70s and 80s and 90s, but it was more niche. It is weird how extreme normal stuff has gotten. Also, kids shows used to try and teach lessons. Now most of them are spastic psychotic absurdism.

This is because the only shock humour that won't get you arrested or blacklisted is gore now

Born in '70 here.

I feel like it's the exact opposite, most of you are ridiculously pussified, mostly from having way more reasons to be sedentary at home these days.

When I was a kid, westerns were considered to be perfect for kids.

The "warming feeling and optimism" is when everything for kids got fucking sanitized, luckily the stranglehold didn't last long due to emerging markets such as home video and cable and then the internet ect.

They want to desensitize us to death in order to make decisions like abortion and euthanasia less frowned upon

You can really hear it in the music. If you listen to 80s/90s pop, everything was positive. Everyone sings about themselves now, instead of love.

Watch the 2015 Cinderella, feel a bit better.

OWSLA!!!

This. 90s dance was great. I still dance and work out to it all the time. It was all love songs, party songs, simple, innocent, but had some edge in that it was free. Now music is cynical, ironic, self involved. They've replaced love with sex and breakups.

The void in people these days is pretty frightening. I used to think they were just coddled hipsters but they turned out the be a generation of conditioned zombies that feel nothing.

We were born into a world of carnival games and forced perspectives. We are much much smarter than any statistics have ever tested. We are not allowing ourselves to be used, and not buying into the worlds scams. You will all die if you plan on scamming life from others. Heads up, we're smart.
