What old series are you watching, Sup Forums? I'm currently watching Dirty Pair and enjoying it.

I hope you can recognize all of these.

Ideon.
>the crew thought they could blow the Ideon up
L.o.l.
At least they've tried everything now and the end is near.

You seem to have accidentally listed it backwards friend

I started out watching anime in the 90s so I'm not too familiar with 70s and 80s anime, are there any must-watch shows?

Urusei Yatsura is a must watch if you're interested in the history of anime.

Also check out Rose of Versailles.

I started watching anime in the mid-90s and pretty much everything available in my country at the time was from the 80s

Managed to get a 33gb torrent of the raws of Takarajima with like 2 seeder. Looks way better than the bakabt 720p one.
Also retimed the subs and put them on the raw. Now I can properly enoy Takarajima, one of my favorites.

Also, It appears that Oniisama e is getting a BD release in October. I hope someone will upload it to nyaa, would love to rewatch that in glorious BD.
And last thing, are there raws of Ie Naki Ko Remi on nyaa? I hear there are on AB but I don't have an account there.

Anything Dezaki. Rose of Versailles Ashita o Joe, Space Cobra.

Joe

I'll check those out, thank you.

Argie here

...

you know times were rough when I actually enjoyed Saint Seiya

What do you mean?

The Sanctuary arc is probably one of the best moments in shounen period.

Ikki vs Shaka, Seiya vs Aioria, Hyoga vs Kamus, Shiryu vs Deathmask, so many god-tier combat condensed.

...

Is he the best kid protagonist?

I'm totally hooked on Urusei Yatsura right now, thanks so much for the user who is doing the livestream for the 35th ann.

I only watched Beautiful Dreamer when I was younger, and that was the only exposure I had to Lum until now.

It really is a fantastic series, loving every minute of it.

I have 2 questions: what's Lum's accent supposed to be? oni-talk? She always end almost all her sentences with a "cha" or something like that. At any rate it's very cute.
And who are these fish-looking aliens that make cameos from time to time?

...

This, of course.

CAN YOU HEAR ME KIKOERU KA

Lum speaks a Frankendialect made out of regional things very young girls would say to be deliberately cutesy. Takahashi actually made it up for use by those same fish monsters in her debut work.

I hate this shit meme series

It's pretty funny

Why are they so small? Sup Forums is not an ant site, you know.

I know. Do you remember back in the days when full when video clips where this small?
You know, back in the 90's.

More like 40s and 50s.

Is this the old anime thread?

I just finished the last episode of the A-Ko OVA yesterday, and have now completed the entire franchise.
Pretty bad all the way through. Part 4 was marginally better than the previous ones, but in the end, all of them got a 4/10 from me. Toward the end of episode 1 of the OVA, it looked like it could be deserving a 5 if the last episode was good, but it went back to being boring, so in the end even the OVA got a 4/10.

>spending all day to download one DBZ episode in RMVB that's 14mb in size and looks like total shit

Koto has been my waifu since I was like twelve years old.

Sup Forums is not your blog. Keep your shit taste on MAL.

This just reminded me I need to download Patlabor and watch it again.

If this came out more recently, all the kiddos online would write it off as being "2edgy4me".

You disappoint me Sup Forums

Nobody cares you casual dumbfuck.

Not even cool bike or beer cans from the secret vault can improve the story.

Can the angry millennial please go to bed?

>being disappointed because a movie you know fucking everyone on Sup Forums has seen didn't come up in this one thread
Please.

>millennial
I got into anime in the mid-90s and I'm a fucking millennial. You're like 40 if you aren't.

I've never liked it.

It's funny because it started out at the end of the boom years and very quickly became a nostalgia for a bygone era thing.
It's like the anime equivalent of the Red October adaptation coming out after the Soviet Union collapsed.

Greatest love story even told.

>bygone era
Please, tell me more about this era user.

I have seen this today and it was excellent.
Probably one of the best movies I have seen, and I have seen a lot. The art, music and surreal image perfectly blended to tell a story in a non-pretentious comprehensible way.
Incredible, even not considering the year it was made in.

Takahashi's best work

No one cares about akira's story, people care that it has extremely detailed animation that is fully on 1s.

>started out at the end of the boom years and very quickly became a nostalgia for a bygone era thing.
Reminds me of how the first two Patlabor movies are completely different from a tonal standpoint due to the first being released at the bubble economy's apex, and the second being released in 1993.

>that is fully on 1s.
Wait, really? The whole thing?

She is cute as fuck. Picked the fuck up.

Yes. It's insane.

I want to sound her dick.

In terms of 70s Osamu Dezaki shoujo anime, I think I legitimately enjoy Aim for the Ace more than Rose of Versailles.

I love shit where the main character sucks ass but then slowly progresses over the course of the show into a badass, and it has one of the best final episodes I've ever seen.

Plus it might even be more homo than Rose of Versailles.

>sucks ass

Your stupidity is showing.

It was edgy. Kon's worst movie.
