Yeah, it's reset in the middle of this month's issue without any apparent reason. As an aside, it's kind of a problem for archiving, too. Daiz' naming scheme which we employ for archiving doesn't really account for this. So we decided to just continue the previous numbering for the time being: the new chapter 1 (which is called d1 in this dump) is labelled as 53 in our archives.
I don't know what to speculate about it. Maybe there is something about Kakushi's publisher going on behind the scenes. I mean the chapter end notes are written by Kakushi himself, so it may not be too far-fetched to say that this cosmetic change reflects something inside the story, hinting at that conversation at the end of chapter 43. On the other hand though, the story just continues as if there's nothing.
It's certainly mysterious and I bet after 300 chapters Kumeta can come up with a meaning for this oddity quite nicely.
