Speaking of, Blood frenzy is less powerful than normal Shalltear right? She probably gets a buff to speed and strength at the cost of clear thoughts and skills.

Frenzy mode is a buff to stats but she can be easily outwitted, assuming the opponent is of comparable strength.

1500 top tier players presumably all 90+ at least and mostly 100, invaded Nazerick. How many did each guardian/floor pick off? or did they make it all the way down to floor 8 with minimal loses?

Because I can't imagine Shalltear lasting more than a second against 1500 players. And after that I imagine it collapses like a tower block, crashing down with a huge deathball.

A 20+ lv difference won't let you one shot your opponents (entoma lv 51 vs gagaran and ninja (lv 26-28).

If you ask me, there was a core of powerful players who assembled mooks and NPC mercenaries around them. They sent the pawns in first to either overwhelm the defenders by numbers and learn their combat tactics, then used the information to properly beat the bosses.

It wasn't hard to reach 100lvl in Yggdrasil and in most MMO you don't really start participating in guild wars or serious raids until you're toplvl.

It must have been something so broke that they realised they couldn't defeat it and didn't just try again. Remember, it wasn't just enough to stop the raid, it was enough that those massive guilds didn't just grind back the exp they lost from death, reassemble and attack again, this time knowing all the dangers.

When they finally reached Victim's level there probably weren't any NPCs left.

There's also the item loss from death, and we don't know how many times people died and lost experience in the previous floors.

Though you're absolutely right; I've always gotten the impression that the 8th floor is all overpowered bullshit and WCI shenanigans so conventional combat goes out the window.

I may have misstated something. Mercenaries are monsters summoned with Ygg gold, like the Eight Edge Assassins, Hanzo and so on. I thought you could create NPCs without a guild base, but I might be wrong.

Don't forget that mercs die when killed, and like said they probably didn't have any NPCs left to soak hits. They probably figured 8 guilds' worth of guys would be enough for 1 floor and got BTFOed.

But they never tried again. You often fail dungeons the first time, even with a great team, because something gets you unawares, coming back the second time is the norm. Thats why AOG got a special bonus for clearing Nazerick in one turn, meaning that its rare enough that its worth a reward, and a fairly significant one at that. So it seems that getting wiped the first time is the norm.

I can get that they all get wiped on the first time, I'd almost expect that.

But I think that the most significant thing is not that they got wiped - Its that they never tried again. They gave up. Decided that there was nothing to be done, and just accepted it.

Without a guild or a clan you can probably hire them.
Like mercenary followers in RPG.

Mercenaries are spawned NPC that you could use to fill your team.
Like when your team was all fighters you could pay money to spawn mage/support/cleric.

Possible reasons:
1) They lost their good gear
2) They couldn't get anyone to buy in for another expedition

I mean, if they don't know what killed them, then there's an unknown danger in the 8th floor that killed hundreds of players.

If they DO know, that would scare off anyone from trying.

Also, there's the theory that the 8th Floor contains all the dungeon bosses from the initial conquest of Nazarick, those have party wipe moves and would be the source of people kvetching about brokenness.

Taking 8 Greedy Kings as an example - imagine how hard it would be to bring such an alliance together again.
Consider the discouragement of previous defeat and decrease in power (exp, items) too.

To his credit Ainz didn't really have much of a father figure, so he has a hard time trying to fill in that void for Mare and Aura. I think he is just trying to get over that and be a good father to PA even though he is probably just suppressing his displeasure.
