Pirating is so prevalent that streaming is a casual thing. I suspect that is why media companies are pandering to demographics less likely to know how to do it.
Let's assume everyone knows about piracy ages 20 and below. Yes, most of internet piracy was not related to CP and never will be, as CP is not copyrighted property. If you're asking about torrenting being strong on CP distribution I think you'll find yourself very sorely mistaken. A lot of CP may be hidden in what appears otherwise harmless data, but that embedded CP file is often times made by TAO and other divisions of the NSA and FBI, NSB, and a few other soups that aren't really legal. I would really recommend never opening or attempting to access CP torrents, you're almost always getting fucked in the ass. I know this because one of my friends growing up used to be into IT and watched a lot of CP I later found out. He said it was likely enough he was caught because of a lot of that. I'm really anti pedo so obviously I'm not his friend anymore, but I didn't understand at the time that most LEO agencies that work with CP cases often plant the CP to establish those cases. It's disturbing.
On the whole, most torrents are tracked and known to enforcement authorities but isn't a crime worth prosecuting, as you can't squeeze blood out of turnips, it's why you see a lot of companies that torrent getting fucked in the ass but college students getting literal millions in free software movies music books and applications.

It takes at most like 5-10 minutes to understand how torrents work, or even do a google search to find a stream of something, but people are still so intensely lazy they won't even do that, because the first result might not be exactly what they're looking for. Or they just don't really care about their money, even if they're poor. The "official" way is to find someone already a member and have them give you an invite, or suck the site mod's dicks for 100 years in IRC. What I did though is just paid someone who was a member to give me an invite. I got into a TV only one (BTN), and then a movie only one (PTP) and that's all I needed. There's music only ones if you're into that too. It cost me only about $5-10 for each invite. I just sent the guy an email, and we got together for about 5 mins and after paypaling him money, got the invites. Was painless and paid for itself easily. I think I used this website, but it was like 8 yrs ago so can't really remember. I'd search for a site on google (just do "best private trackers for X"), and then just go to those forums and find someone selling an invite for it.
