China is really good at forgery

Plot is Naruto, art is One Piece, and this gag is JoJo.

I'm oddly intrigued but instantly critical, expecting it to be complete shit.

Are there any other Chinese picture scrolls of value besides Feng Shen Ji?

>secret art : the thirty six stratagems.
That's really not a secret.
At all, all 36 of them are widely known and easily available.

>Chyna

That looks nothing like One Piece art.

That guy in the top right corner doesn't look like Usopp to you? The kid running with giant circle eyes doesn't look like an annoyed Luffy? The giant ape doesn't look like a gag monster, or something he draws for the SBS?

Well, maybe I'm dumb at this.

Nope. Not at all. I see no resemblance.

The guy in the bottom left doesn't have an annoyed Zoro-style expression?

Neither of the gents in the background there look like One Piece... well, probably background characters?

>Zoro-style expression
No. If anything, Kin'emon is more likely to have that expression.

But if we're talking about expressions that's a design choice. Not art.

What is this?

I don't read One Piece, so I can't pick out the differences proper, it does resemble its artwork to me.

Zui Wu Dao

I don't special Chinaman, but Wu is "martial" and Dao is "way." Google tells me Zui is "most" or "highest." I'm only four chapters in. It seems pretty standard cultivation stuff, and I'm sure it falls apart later.

Just figured the art was a thing to comment on.

Oh, it's a novel adaptation.

I wonder if ISSTH has one.

Why does every chinese picturebook have this cultivation, take secret pills, break through to san danlord level bullshit

I saw Coiling Dragon's adaptation... we shouldn't wish that on ISSTH.

It's their version of capeshit, I guess? Almost all their classic novels have some element of cultivation in them, and the ones that don't are either still "secret super kung fu masters" or "this is actually a war that really happened." Journey to the West's front half is a cultivation novel, Investiture of the Gods is cultivation after they did all the cultivating, and I think that the Water Margin has some bits and pieces of it too.

Cultivation is a taoist thing, apparently.

Looks more like Fairy Tail art than One Piece.

The thought occurred. I did always think that Fairy Tale aped One Piece though.

>Plot is naruto

OP, are you retarded?
Seek help.

>Low level kid in a society of fight-magic users who cannot use even the most basic technique without fucking it up and is disparaged by everyone except for a single older male that he treats like family, actually has a super-special lineage that lets him be OP.
>He gets a demon inside of him that lets him rise to the top of fight-magic users. But again, it's all because the kid is actually super special thanks to his parents, and he had the potential to be awesome the whole time.

And it's called autism, user.

Two pages later.
>His dad left a ghost-copy of himself inside of the kid('s amulet) that powers up and gives him some words of advice before dissipating.

You just described quite a lot of most literature for literature worldwide, including harry potter.

He's right though, China would never copy Naruto ever.

I musta missed the part in Harry Potter where he grew up in the wizard world, and was unable to cast a spell because he was secretly just too good at it, or the demon that lived inside Harry... unless that was Voldemort. I didn't read most of the later books.

Also weren't Harry's parents like, mostly average? Again, never read past... the Phoenix one, or the Prisoner one.

and all of them suck as and are cancer this , this is beyond cancer.

...

Voldemort turned out to have tried to make himself immortal by fracturing his soul and sticking pieces of it in objects important to him so that if he died part of him would be around to come back. The big snake that he always keeps around him was one, a family locket was another, another was the diary from the second book, etc.

It turns out that Harry was the final and accidental one. When the shenanigans with the curse backlash happened he accidentally stuck a piece of his soul inside Harry and its the reason he could do things like talk to snakes and see what Voldemort does.

...

What is this sudden, unexpected masterpiece of emotion, storytelling and artistry?!

...

...not to completely derail, but didn't Harry kill Voldemoret in an early book by touching him?

The one where the teacher had Voldemort's face on the back of his head. Probably the first one. Harry Killed him by touching him. How'd his soul fucking survive being inside of Harry when he was evil snake mage-contact poison?

Chinese story telling at its finest.

Nah this isn't a copy. You cant really consider anything Chinese a copy, because they're just copies of each of other.
Both points are prevalent in most Chinese novels
>Trash person looked down by everyone
>Gains teacher(CD,LSG,) or a heaven defying treasure (CD,MW,ISSTH)
>MC has an amazing background(TTNH,ISSTH)
>A heart demon every cultivator has to overcome in order to reach enlightenment.

Early book was his shade possessing the guy or something if I remember right. Something about the protection magic from his mom made touching him painful, and if I had to guess it only protects against external stuff. The soul part is already inside him. Voldemort becomes immune to it once he gets a body anyways and from what I remember that's about the same time the whole link thing starts really kicking up because the protection was gone.

The faces are so obviously traced it's painful.

What an odd way to spell "beautiful."

Tales of Demons and God

Art is Naruto, Setting is Attack on Titan, Premise is Tsuyokute New Saga

Most stuff by the same artist is good. City of darkness is pure shonen shit, but it's fun. Song of long march is also chinese.

only difference is that Naruto waits until the village learns to accept him for what he is

In Chinese novels the MC just slaughters everyone in the place with the exception of the ones that bow to him.

Which is refreshing to a degree.

Warlock of the Magus World is probably the best in this regard. Main character has a cheat, he doesn't reveal it, is very careful to make sure he always hides behind someone who appears to be better than him, and is generally very careful about making sure that long standing grudges don't form, by murdering anyone who might form one.

There's a point where a princess and her guard stumble onto his camp. He tells them to leave. A bunch of goons show up chasing them. He tells them to leave. They kill the guard and then move to kill him. He tells them he doesn't want trouble. They decide to kill him anyway, but then the stumble and fall. He's been mixing anesthetic herbs into his campfire for months now, and they are all paralyzed. He murders them.

The princess wants his help retaking her kingdom. He denies. She promises him riches. He points out if she has riches to spare, she'd have more than one dead guard. She gets uppity and then leaves instantly in a huff while shooting him an ugly look. He tells her to wait, and she turns back to him, smiling. He shoots her with a crossbow. She didn't bury or even grieve her own guard who gave his life for her you see. What's the point in helping her? Better to kill her and not risk her, or whoever her opposing faction is, seeking revenge by hiring goons to send at him. Cleaner that way.

Later: "Oh hey, I know that you're stronger than me, but you've used up all your spells per day, and are just relying on the strength of your magic item. Yes, yes, I know you thought all I was good for was making potions, but it turns out I'm actually only two steps behind you in strength. I'll just cripple you and leave you to die, so your grandpa doesn't instantly know I killed you and come after for revenge. Say, what's it like being crushed to death? I don't actually care, bye!"

He murders them.

really the series feels like it's making fun of usual Chinese novels
Even Chinese MCs aren't immune to the whole "fight for their life to save a pretty girl" in fact they do it several times in a series (and thus gaining harems).

Alright, I totally expect this thread will die, but even so, if someone can honestly tell me that the leftmost panel doesn't look like any elements are from One Piece (or a doujin attempt) then I give up entirely.

>really the series feels like it's making fun of usual Chinese novels

History's Number One Founder, History's Strongest Senior Brother, and My Disciple Died Yet Again are the real stories making fun of the usual tropes.

You are deranged if you believe similar art style means forgery.
That would meant nearly every western artist is an art theft since they mimic each other and have only a few art styles that everything they draw look similar to each other.

If only someone would translate more Senior brother

Looks more like Scott Pilgrim desu senpai

Yeah, no way I used the term forgery to mean obvious attempt at replicating a style.

I mean, that would mean that I'm sort of guy who wanted to make a thread about a thing that I vaguely seemed to life and wanted to talk to people about, but didn't want to be completely obvious, so I used the same technique that click bait uses in order to get people to look at my dumb thing.

Because that's completely silly and not a thing I would do. Obviously I'm deranged.

So do they also make porn doujins or not

though speaking of theft the author or Founder and Senior Brother isn't even ashamed of blatantly ripping-off characters from other works

still waiting for a Chu Feng style motherfucker to appear in anyone of them.

K-kouhai... you're so kawaii to me, desu.

All according to kekkai*

I do think that the guy being punched looks like something from One Piece, or something that directly apes One Piece.

* I dunno, I don't speak sushi.

This is just too amateur to say it's a good copy of anything

Turns out that like most anons, I'm a liar.

Here's Chinese Hitsugaya.

harry sue came from above average parents and instantly was a super broom rider, really good ad casting defense against dark art spells compared to other students. etc etc.

top notch wand picks him and more.

total marry sue.

I definitely see it, don't worry. I think the other people are being contrarian or OP's art has somehow become so ingrained in them it seems natural and they only notice the differences. At the very least they should agree that it's an ATTEMPT at copying OP's art.

I expect one of those tracing comparison pictures to pop up on Japanese twitter soon.

Some projects including games and manga have been canceled when it was discovered that they copied other art too closely.

Only Taiwan does, I don't think China is allowed to

Fancy Frontier is based in Taiwan, isn't it?

>I don't think China is allowed to
That never stopped them you know.

>I definitely see it, don't worry. I think the other people are being contrarian
Exactly

Fuck off you contrarian faggot. This is probably even traced.

I'm following Tales of Demons and Gods, but that's because I follow wuxia.

there's no motivation to with all the problems that comes with making one

Is that poop falling out of his shorts?

>literal chinese comics

Epic manga thread!

>chinese picture scrolls
>instead of taiwanese handjob manuals

Is there a place where it's more appropriate?

What the fuck is cultivation?

gathering qi
using said qi to turn your body superhuman

Building up your inner energy levels or something

Basic, most easily understood form? It's DB power leveling. You start from an above human level, and you follow the training all the way to being a god.

As other user said, it's normally related to taosim, so you can expect alchemy and magic to play a part in people gathering chi and training their bodies.

In more general terms? Cultivation is Chinese RPG stories where each level is equal to ten or twenty, and you constantly grab cheat items. Warlock of the Magus World, Upgrade Specialist in Another World and Immortal Executioner are my current favorites.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero's_journey

Bottom left hand corner... I think the cat just described the central diving forces of One Piece, Naruto, Bleach and Hunter X Hunter.

I don't think any of those series invented the standard battle shonen, and the art looks like Fairy Tail.

Like you guys mentioned, whats with the whole
>whoops better slaughter my enemies/former not close enough to me acquaintances
I mean the jap comics have that in edgy manga too, but they also have autisitc "gobba save evryone" heroes. I probably just haven't read enough chinktoons, but are there any 100% benevolent MCs?

hey I have the same pair of pants the guy getting punched is wearing here

You might, and I repeat: MIGHT, be the coolest kid on your block.

Check quickly, if you put out a boombox and some cardboard, will anyone start break-dancing? If not, you're easily the coolest.

>but are there any 100% benevolent MCs?

Try actual wuxia stories.

pretty sure there are a lot more moralfags than edgy MCs from Chinese stuff

there's one horror manhua that seems interesting.

I forget its name.

Then Bowling King is good (but I think this is Taiwanese)

Based on what I've read: Might just be historical differences? Chinese stories/legends are full of stories where the hero spares a villain and then has to deal with it later in life (Journey to the West's later half being a notable exception) probably due to the War of the Five Kingdoms, where generals and tacticians constantly made a small discretion and the result was an eventual rebelling army that overthrew the emperor. Japanese stories are a bit more likely to have villains be redeemed into heroes or non-violent bystanders, probably due to the Sengoku period, where subduing a local rival and then making peace was vital to survival.

I'm not a sushi or chicken fried rice historian, though.

user, you're a doll. I'm going to put you on a shelf with all my other dolls.

Just don't move at night. They'll know you aren't one of them. And sometimes they'll start moving and grabbing weapons to kill a stranger you've never seen before. You'd best play along, or else they'll know what you actually are.

So just stay perfectly still, or else, when they see you... just go with the flow.

Good to know. Haven't dived as deep into the chinkhole as I have the nip, or even gookhole.

On a related note, I really enjoyed this shit, it was pretty much chinese Inuyasha, except good.
youtube.com/watch?v=s-CTrKdIwmg

That and the chinese harem with the Horizon ending in the PV we had some threads about back in the day. The chinese have pulled off nip bullshit plots amazingly well.

Above average mom with shit genes and below average dad with OP genes.

He was OP in Flying and Spells. Good with charms an curses. Average at Enchantments and herbology and Shit in occlumency, potions, divination and silent Spells. In comparison Hermione was above average at everything that was no divination.

Kids these days use the term Mary Sue too freely, also it would be Gary stu as mary Sue is for girls.

So who are the biggest Chinese comic heroes

Stop talking out of your ass, chink. We're all know you are the one who keep spamming this shit

>this chink again
None enjoy that crap except you, filthy sub human.

>The chinese have pulled off nip bullshit plots amazingly well
Even the shitest harem is better in comparison with these chinese ripoff

Pretty much. In Goblet of Fire, Voldemort and Wormtail do some kind of dark ritual thing to Harry towards the end that removes the charm.

Also, I find it funny that the GoF movie had both
The Tenth Doctor AND Edward Cullen in it.

meant for

>Plot is Naruto, art is One Piece
Truly, the worst Shounen you can get.

>"Oh yes, I always meant for Harry to be a transgendered girl, much like how Hermoine was always supposed to be black and Dumbledore was supposed to be gay." JK Rowling 2016
She would totally do it, the pandering bitch.

Blood and Steel (updates are sparse though)

One of the more grounded Wuxia setting. There's not even any external chi-projection. None of that pill popping cultivation or god rank crap you find in Xianxia.

The story is also pretty unique for Wuxia. Really impressive ideas regarding fighting styles and techniques, and really great art.

is this a wuxia/manhua thread?

anyone have any reccomendations?

(I like taiwanese dramas)

>>Are there any other Chinese picture scrolls of value besides Feng Shen Ji?
>almost 100 posts
>no ravages
>no song of long march

Should I say as expected of Sup Forums?

is it all 3 kingdoms/water margin spinoffs or do they actually write anything else?

(my mandarin is horrible. I couldn't read anything intense but I culd probably read a manhua)

Blood and Steel (Wuxia)

Look up some Taiwanese Glove puppetry shows, specifically ones done by Pili, like Thunderbolt Fantasy

Ravages is the best 3K adaptation period unless you're a fanboy that can't accept any version but the 2010 TV.

Song of the Long March is about the Tang Dynasty and is practically a Shoujo or Josei tragedy. Pretty much completely original as far as Sup Forums is concerned and dabbles in lots of genres.

Somebody already mentioned Song of Long March, and Ravages of Time gets posted a lot (comparatively) on Sup Forums

The OP asked for value, so I listed Ravages naturally. If he wanted underrated that's another story.

kek, I've actually seen those

thanks. I don't prefer battleshounen but I'll give it a go

song of the long march sounds pretty cool. concubine stories get old eventually too, I'm just 3k'd out right now.

I tend to like taiwanese school dramas because they're a little more raw, and there's a lot less beating around the bush like in japanes manga, where the ending is the couple finally holding hands.

I haven't seen any school romances from the mainland. maybe it's illegal?

You mean done by Gen and Nitro+?

Chink shit and gook trash are horrible. They will ripoff whatever Japan shit out

Pili helped.
