Every single polish I met in the UK is insane.

In my closest circle I know two people who migrated to england. My father who is an alcoholic and has what seems like schizophrenia or some other reality warping illness(he's alone there so theres noone to force him to be treated), and my girlriends brother who developed depression and alcoholism when in England. So yeah, I know you're probably right. There was a pretty great Polish movie called "Silent Night" this year which has a character that emigrated from Poland and comes back and has a line that goes something like this:
"I wanted to travel abroad to become more then just a polak, to become more human then polak, but when I got there I realized that out there I'm even more of a polak, and Poland is our place on earth where polaks are free to feel human."
I think these feelings + isolation + welfere attracting people who lost in life, have something to do with mental illnes abroad.
