How fucked am I?

Just went through the application process to get health coverage. The cheapest plan I can get is $143 a month for catastrophic, limited network coverage with a $7350 deductible. That's $2350 a year for practically useless coverage. The next cheapest plan is $341 a month with a $6650 deductible. I make too little to qualify for a subsidy and my state hasn't expanded Medicare. What the fuck? Do I just take the $700 penalty instead of paying three times that for bullshit coverage?

Is this money seriously going straight to insurance companies? Poor people like me are literally required by law to fork out half their take-home pay every month for bottom-of-the-barrel coverage??

>$7350 deductible
AH HAHAHAHAHAHA

(((insurance)))

>required by law

Wh-What do you mean? Is health insurance required by law?

How can anyone honestly watch a person report their yearly income to be $10,000 and then tell them their deductible is 75% of that?

"Welp, don't get sick, poor boy!"

thanks jews

Did you just wake up from a decade long coma?

Yes. But who cares. They can throw me in jail and pay for it if they want to.

Yes it is. You get a fine for not having health insurance which is now grossly overpriced.

Obama did this.

I know it is kind of a meme to blame things on Obama, but for real he actually did this.

Don't pay the Niggerbama mandate. Tell them to go to hell

Yeah, I'll pay the deductible when they send me a bill. Fuck that shit.

Yes lol or you get penalized.

I mean the stupid penalty. lol

Insurance and healthcare overall was far better under George W Bush.

t. oldfag

It was under Obummer (under penalty of a fine) but Trump signed an executive order earlier this year forbidding the IRS from enforcing it, so technically yes, but really no.

143 x 12 = 1716

So now Democrats are just going to let it burn for as long as possible and blame its failure on Trump? I'm guessing that most politicians don't actually give two shits about the ACA because they're rich enough to afford whatever happens.

just don't fill out the healthcare part of your tax return the irs will not enforce the penalty. Trump exe orded it back in feb.

wut
how and why

I think that's the plan.

I remember in the early 80s you could have a child and a three day hospital stay for $200. Today it is something like $20k.

Eventually people will cry out for socialized healthcare because 'capitalism is failing'.

Right but the IRS just said, like a week ago, that they won't be accepting tax returns that don't indicate health coverage for the year. I assume that means they'll know exactly who gets penalized.

"...includes premiums, deductibles, and all out-of-pocket costs..."

Take the penalty you faggot
