Just finished the Turner Diaries. I was thoroughly unimpressed. It was really badly written IMHO. So what's Sup Forums's favorite books that i should read next? Please, something better written than the Turner Diaries.

The message is that you cannot save the white race (if that is your goal in the first place) by "being nice", voting or whatever.

It provides a grand vision for a new world. I have some issues with that vision, but still it is amazing.

Reading it isn't as good as listening to WLP's audio book, still it's not great. You'll hear his defenders say that he didn't know it would be a book, but you read Hunter and you realize WLP didn't have as much of a literary gift as he did for grasping real politic and the zeitgeist of the day.
I think hoppe wrote that for a post nuclear civilization to find and start over with.

Pierce originally wrote it as a serial in his magazine. It was his first attempt at writing fiction and said that he would have tried to do a better job if he had known it would become so big.

Hunter is better written, but honestly Pierce wasn't the greatest fiction writer.

It was never a book originally it was a comic strip in a monthly magazine. Hunter was actually designed as a novel but is much more theory and less action

Pierce is an incredibly brilliant man (his recorded broadcasts are worth listening to), but his background as an engineer limits his ability as a writer. Engineers are experts on how to solve a problem, but not on selecting problems to solve.

I'm reading this right now (picked it up at a used book sale), it goes into detail about how the late Roman world gradually came to adopt practices that we associate with the Middle Ages (like serfdom emerging out of hereditary land rentals) and I haven't gotten to the part that's more about the barbarians yet

There is some nuance here with "in your own country" and "in your own house" which is a quite interesting subject. Ultimately, can a good and just parent not recognize dimensions of private property? To get back to your example, Hungarians in many instances did not, or at least did so in different way than Austrians did which is the way my answer is the way it is.

It's a good story that's badly written. I think it would make a good TV drama or movie.

One of the great unsung dystopic science-fiction novels, unfortunately overshadowed by 1984 and BNW. I'd consider this essential reading for anybody here. Even though it's written by an Angloid feminist it's really quite sane and even-handed in its handling of everything it covers. It's more of a general warning against the dangers of utopian thinking than a condemnation of any particular nation or regime. Also it's second-wave feminism or whatever so the views expressed within are anathema to what passes for a feminist today.

he's right though. My copy of Turner Diaries is full of typos and errors. I don't know if that is the publisher fuck up or what but it isn't very good., The story isn't too bad though.

It was written as a diary, and did that very well. It isn't there to show how things got that bad, you're dropped into the shit after things have been going down hill and you see how movements can start and grow and even how they can collapse.

Some of it was really overblown, but it was there to get people thinking and you can see how the writer progresses from disliking non-whites (by calling them negros and blacks) to niggers later in the book and being kind of a pussy at the start then becoming more and more devoted to the cause.
