The moon is tidally locked, its axial rotation speed and orbital speed are in a relationship that causes the same face to point to earth at all times.

You can see the curvature of your horizon on Earth at ANY altitude - just note that your horizon curves around behind you. Even at hundreds of miles above the Earth you are STILL only seeing the curve of this horizon, it just becomes a little easier to see it as a circle as you get higher. This is NOT really literally seeing the curvature of the Earth. Doing thay is much more difficult because the curvature is Extremely slight until you hit great distances away and the curvature is always very oblique to our viewpoint and obscured by the atmosphere.
