My parents are classical liberals, and associated with libertarian types. In high school I became friends with ancaps and LGBT people, even starting a GSA at my school. In college I started running around in communist circles, and was a pretty early (white) member of BLM, as well as in a pro-immigrant club, pro-palestine club, (obligitory) feminist organization, etc.
I got religious pretty suddenly and everyone turned on me, despite their normal attitudes of “religious tolerance” towards “marginalized” faiths and that was the beginning of the end. I got crazy caught up in religion for a while, nearly engaged on two occasions, then sort of got away from my church...
Now I’m realizing just how much of everything that’s been my life related to high school and college is just pure trash. Where do you even start? Ffs

There's a lot of rationalizing it away, for example most people here don't realize that the problems with Islam in non-Islamic countries is a racial problem rather than an ideological one. In developing countries, classes are divided along racial lines as well as financial ones, no matter how much India claims it no longer focuses on caste. The outcome of this is that lower income people, who are often racially inferior as well, escape their class poverty by immigrating, and then are unable to cope with the clash of civilizations and go full Saleel Sawalim.
TL;DR Islamic countries export the dredges of their society to the West, West assumes this is a representative sample of the countries they come from, hates the mainstream ideologies of the countries without realizing the racial undertones.
