"The U.S. incarceration rate peaked in 2008 when about 1 in 100 US adults was behind bars.[24] This incarceration rate exceeded the average incarceration levels in the Soviet Union during the existence of the Gulag system"
Well for starters you can't openly have slaves so you can as well have a prison in the US and treat it as a cyclic business

It's not an opinion it's a question, you fat mong.
Lucas Sanders
Well I have to call bullshit on your map sadly In that color scheme Mexico settles in a homicide rate of 20 and 29.99, for 2016 that rate is 16.35 So yeah, you may as well put that map into the trash
Do you realize that we don't care about the number for Mexico, it's not the topic and we all know it's close to full civil war in Mexico anyway?
Why are you that self centered Rofriguo?
Robert Bailey
Groenland's population is 50k, that's half of 100.000 so that means a homicide would be literally 2 in rate. yes, their homicide rate is higher than the count.
they'd need just 5 killings to make it a rate of 10

Because niggers and retarded drug laws. And the prison industrial complex.
Aiden Price
that's what happens when you have sentences like '362 years in prison'
Hunter Gray
>we all know it's close to full civil war in Mexico No its not The war goal was already achieved in the drug war, civil authorities incompetence maintains that violence, there are no mega cartels capable of deposing the Mexican government left But all right Ahmed lets end this

They turned prisons into an industry. They actually turn a fuckload of profit unlike every other ocuntry where it's a giant expense
Jaxon Richardson
It does create kinda bad incentive where the state actually wants to increase the number of prisoners though.
Angel Nguyen
Yeah it does and I'm against it
Robert Gonzalez
America is a giant open sky farm. Regular Americans are raised for their foreskin and their consumption power.
Angel Evans
Do you believe them innocent? If so do you want to house them?
Nicholas Perry
How do they make profits off prisons?
Liam Bell
They send a bill to the government for each prisoner

Camden Brooks
Is trump a jew?
Kayden Nelson
No, but he's surrounded by them and married into them. Most Jews are very leftwing which is why the media they own, which is most of it, has been going insane over Trump as if he's actually Hitler over stupid shit.
Brody Jackson

bla bla. retarded fucks. it's because americans are stupid and outright moronic. when you get life for having images of child abuse and actual person committing the crime gets less that it is moronic. and americans cheer every fucking time another poor 20 yo student gets 75 years for having images that never hurt anyone.
before it was drugs, now it's this. you found the new evil, and are making sure your rules are followed around the globe, even if all evidence points towards the benefits of not criminalizing possession.
Case in point: arizona teacher (Morton Berger) gets 200 years for 20 images. For having them. No parole, it is for life.
At the same time, same county, the husband of former secretary for transportation gets 14 years for repeatedly raping a 7 yo over several months/years. (Terryl Peters)
Have you heard of either cases being reported in the free american media?
Joshua Russell
America is a fucking jungle where human being are the predators.
They feed themselves with people getting life sentences for small crimes.
Landon Morales
>without possibility of probation, parole, pardon or clemency.
lol they're mad
Nathaniel Cook
>Because niggers Incarceration rates in white areas are still above Europe's
Tyler Bell
they are. and they cheer this law. they are proud of it. (the law is 10 years per image possessed, consecutively, no parole possible. apparently this is not unusual or cruel in america)
Christopher Martinez
Jesus
Child porn is disgusting but 200 years without probation, parole, pardon or clemency?
Connor Edwards
I don't think the issue is a lack of moral compass.
I think the issue is that they are binary people. They don't see degrees. You're either an angel or a devil.
Anthony Scott
yes. that is america. the law encourages child rape. 14 years with parole vs life. again, same state, same county. this is un fucking believable. Especially since no major media outlet reported either cases. btw there are studies from japan, denmark, and teh czech republic that show that not criminalizing possession is beneficial and lowers actual rape cases. google it
Elijah Morris
Common law (judges make the law). Elected judges. Corruption is legal (lobbying). Private penitentiaries.
You should be able to figure out the cycle.
Logan Perry
but this is a topic nobody dares touching. anybody who does will be labelled a pedophile immediately. so it's a safe bet for lawmakers until one of their friends gets caught up in the web
Charles Hernandez
americans just piss me off. exceptions exist, but they are way too few and far in between
Isaiah James
this is the new war on drugs, and it will take hundreds of thousands of ruined lives and decades to correct in the land of the free
Juan Garcia
they have a pretty weird law enforcement where they bully people, sometimes innocent, into plea deals and if those refuse they put multiple charges on them (like every e-mail was a separate instance of wire fraud or every piece of cp on the pc deserves a separate prison term etc crap when what's essentially one crime becomes a dozen of crimes) which also should all be served one after another, so they imprison people for ridiculous terms for small or even petty offenses. there is also some state where they can imprison somebody for life for any crime if it was their third crime on the record, even if if it was shoplifting socks and the previous crimes were a decade ago
meantime it's a political suicide to soften the system while it's a safe card to make it harsher
Ryan Richardson
the problem is they also bully other countries as well. like with drugs and drug laws previously
Caleb White
Gotta feed/take care of all those prisoners. Entire communities grow around large prisons almost like mining towns. If the prison shuts down or reduce the number of inmates, the town would die.
Dominic Diaz
Political and mainly the drug war. Since the only way to get elected on some places was to be tough on crime and the 80's everyone was freaking the fuck out about everything, specially drugs, prisons exploded with new inmates.
Jordan Price
What did we ever do to you?
Cooper Garcia
srsly?
Jacob Bennett

John Morales
Maybe the ultimate plan is be to have 99% of the population in jail. It would be like reestablishing slavery.
Owen Foster
they are already companies growing on sending prison labor. They don't grow much though because prisoners don't give a fuck about work ethic.
Ryder Mitchell
americans earn a lot, but they are not a free people. it's a police state more than any other comparable developed nation. hell, in fact even third world ones, since at least they dont have such sophisticated and hidden cyber surveillance programs.
Anthony Powell
dont worry
america spies on your citizens for your govt
Justin Bell
I guess you can give away some productivity for some free workforce.
I'm sure they can improve productivity with easy incentive like giving small sentence reductions for the most productive (the recidive rate is high anyway so if you release early a prisoner he will probably come back)
Cooper Evans
Im honestly losing all faith in humanity at this point because of the fact that a major and bloody civil war in the USA has not erupted by now,
although I get the impression that this bubble is about to pop.
Jonathan Green
The system is built in politicians keeping them there and continue to grow the prison system to be seen as tough on crime and getting re-elected. Having in the news that prisoners are working their way out of prison through the profit of a corporation would be a political nightmare. Specially if the guy commits another crime again (or murders someone).
When california started to shut down prisons are releasing drug addicts/small time pot dealers, everyone went apeshit.
Austin Cook
You listen to the loudest motherfucker in the room, that is why. Majority of people like in pooland want to move on with their lives.
Charles Cooper
nah, your violent crime statistics seems to imply your shithole is imploding
Joshua Nguyen
violent crime in the USA is down
Charles Lopez
the vast majority are in jail due to non-violent crimes. Most of it is due to violent behavior, closely followed by drugs and property crime.
William Reed

Because violent crime and homicide was skyrocketing during the seventies and eighties in the US, mass incarceration is the only statistically significant factor that contributed to it's reduction. That's the non meme answer if you were genuinely curious and not just trying to ridicule it without knowing why.
Dylan Smith
>Why does the US have 1% of their population in prison? Because they dislike spending money on the things that prevent people from committing crime - they'd rather that money went to cutting taxes or trying to balance the budget instead. Of course prison's an order of magnitude more expensive, but they're under the impression that sending people to prison is essential, works and is an effective deterrent.
Zachary Gonzalez
I don't understand this. Somehow arresting criminals make the US comparable to communists who starved and indiscriminately killed millions? Are 12?
Christopher Peterson
Well for starters you can't openly have slaves so you can as well have a prison in the US and treat it as a cyclic business
Brayden Davis
Because the death penalty has been banned in many states.
Connor Gonzalez
We have this thing called "niggers". QED
Dylan Powell
Even the white population is sent far more often in prison than in any other western country.
