Women are emotional sponges who can't generate self-worth from within and have to get it from constant external validation, which requires an exhausting amount of upkeep to begin with. In addition, they have no real interests or passions other than the ones they copy from people around them, but they only copy them in the most superficial ways so they won't even get into those things enough to have meaningful discussions or interactions related to that topic of interest and they'll get mad if you acknowledge that about them. They require almost as much attention as a child and have virtually no autonomy or original thought.

Children are even worse, requiring over 20 years of your life in constant unrewarding work just for the narcissistic pleasure of trying to create a copy of yourself to live on past your death, and even then they probably won't share your ideals so even that terrible goal is already not going to be fulfilled, so there's truly no point and it's just a losing battle where you waste your life failing to accomplish what you set out to do.

Yesterday i overheard my cousin who I thought was a good woman bragging and laughing about how her ex husband is a loser and has to live on the couch in his moms basement because he's stuck paying all his money to her, she used the word manchild to describe him despite living off of his money.

There's the day to day life to live for. Spending time with friends, playing video games, watching movies, working out, going on bike rides, traveling... the list goes on and there are TONS of things for everyone to spend time doing and enjoy. I'm not going to tell you that relationships with people are bad, because making social connections is incredibly important to human mental health, but those connections don't need to be from marriage or parenthood, you can get them from close friends just as well. And then you layer all the stuff you enjoy doing with those people or even by yourself on top of all that and suddenly you have an incredibly meaningful and fulfilling life that you can live for yourself instead of for a literal parasite like a child.

Absolutely not. I disagree for all the reasons I listed above. There are so many things to live for. I feel like if you think kids are the ONLY thing to live for that speaks volumes about your own depressive mental state than anything else.

And before you get the wrong idea, I'm also not saying it's wrong or bad to have kids, but I take issue with the common insistence that it's the most important or only thing someone should do or strive for. If you want kids, that's fine, but recognize that it's not for everyone, and if you think it's literally the only thing to live for then seek help for your depression.
