Is capitalism a mistake? Why do people form cults around name brands?

Is capitalism a mistake? Why do people form cults around name brands?

It started off ok but then became corrupted with globalism and greed. Fortunately we are in late-stage capitalism and the reset to socialism is not too far away.

The worship of idols seems to be as old as humanity. Why, there are even people who worship communism!

The same reason worship Gods. Brands are the new Gods

Asian hype-beasts make my blood boil, they're betas that aren't capable of conversation but they are obsessed with brands

They've been deracinated (if they're white)

this

To make them easily identifiable as people to not let into your shelter.

Capitalists, explain why it's efficient when retards pay 50 dollars for a white tshirt?

The principle of Capitalism in and of itself--i.e., free market economy, free enterprise, property rights--is not evil or wrong.

The problem unfortunately runs far deeper than that. The problem is marketing. Marketing has become a form of psychological manipulation with more research and investment sunken into it than the space program and all arms development combined. Marketing began as a way to appeal to peoples' identities and psychological needs to sell products, but it transformed into a way to CREATE identities, and ASCRIBE people psychological needs to convince them that they needed products, so as to sell more of them.

This is the problem. And this problem is not unique to Capitalism, it was merely (like most things) perfected under Capitalism. The problem to be addressed is the soulless and destructive marketing complex that has arisen in the background of the United States and other Capitalist countries. It should be unsurprising to anyone here that this was, of course, pioneered by Jews.

The problem of course is that there's no fucking way to defeat this marketing machine, it's too integral to society, how do people know what products exist unless you tell them? We're in a pickle.

I’m not spending $50 on a white T-shirt made in Bangladesh

Ive noticed brand worship is more common among nonwhites and atheists.

The only empirical definition of value that exists is "what someone will pay for X."

If people are actually willing to pay $50 for a white T-shirt, it's objectively worth that much money. The issue is not one of efficiency--if people are willing to do $50 of work for a fucking T-shirt, that's actually tremendously efficient, that's several hours of labor being done for some fucking cotton--the issue is that people actually think a T-shirt is worth $50.

Education is one solution but it only goes so far. What must be destroyed is the concept of consumerism altogether, and there's really no way to do that without dismantling Capitalism or passing frankly dystopian legislation limiting branding and marketing. The only other solution is morality. Legislating morality is not exactly child's play. We've got a poor track record there.

That logo looks like a cheap supermarket brand.

capitalism as a means vs.
capitalism as a tool

Is winter a mistake?

humans are inherently flawed and no economical framework can fix that.

Nah they're just wearing fake Supremes.

You mean communism.

It's retarded, like iphone.

Asians are exactly like niggers when it comes to these brands they will name their kids Nike Chan Chong

This. Read mises on subjective valuation. All prices are based on what people THINK something is worth. If enough people think supreme shirts are worth $50 then it does not matter that you do not.

Supreme hype hasn't hit my country yet, thinking about selling cheap one's for some quick cash.

>Nike Chan Chong

>If enough people think supreme shirts are worth $50 then it does not matter that you do not.
Doesn't sound very subjective to me.

That's the culture around brands like Supreme though. There is a market for people who want to flex in fashion circles. You're paying for the dominance.

Supremes are really just a niche market for 18 year olds tho. Hell, they're pretty easy to flip on ebay for side cash.

says the commie

Most people are cattle

How is that not subjective?

I have no respect for people that wear streetwear shit
