I don't know if ethnostate is necessary but it's sure doesn't hurt. I think however like at least 50 or more years of shared history together is good, the more the better. Also everyone should believe in the same culture. How society progresses depends a lot on that culture, if it's Islam that society will probably turn into a third world nation. However if something else then it might prosper, really it depends on outside cultural influence as well.

If the biggest problem with either system of government is that "it's liable to corruption" they're on about equal footing. Capitalism will inevitably end this way every time though. In placing profit over everything else, it devalues. I don't see how communism is going to yield the same results each time, so long as a total maniac isn't in charge of it?

Norway has billions of dollars in a fund that they got from striking oil off the coast...for a country of 4 million. They could literally become an islamic country and it'd still be impossible for their socialism to fail--oh right this is exactly why Libya was successful for 40 years before the west intervened. The formula for success in the scandinavians isn't socialism; it's inheriting a pristine society post world war 2. You could also make the argument that Sweden's socialism was already exposed even before the recent islamic invasion. 5-10 years ago they started taking in a massive number of gypsies largely from romania and bulgaria to give them a better life because there are very little socialist benefits in eastern europe. To sweden's surprise, the gypsies continued to beg for food and clothing on the streets despite getting more than enough in welfare because begging in your alleged "epitome" of a successful socialist state is more profitable than a career in romania and easier than going to free swedish school and using your brain to become a productive member of society.
