You'll be surprised. Roe vs. Wade really needs to go for a completely different reason. I'll even elaborate it here more on that point because people may think repealing it is about abortion rights.
It's not.
There is absolutely no reason for abortion rights to be subject to federal legislation instead of state legislation.
Much like highway max speed, substance control, education and healthcare reproductive rights fall right into the realm of the 9th and 10th amendments meaning that if California wants to legalize (and even provide) abortion, Colorado cannabis and Iowa to teach a corn bushel based arithmetic to 1st graders the federal government should fuck off and let the States decided for themselves.
Roe vs. Wade is not a decision that says "states can't ban abortion because the constitution say states are forbidden to ban it" (as DC v. Heller is, in the context of the second amendment), it works around the question deciding that [1]:
> right of privacy (...) is broad enough to encompass a woman's decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy.
That was a cop out and, along with Wickard v. Filburn [2] (where the court decided that federal government could use interstate Commerce Clause of the constitution to enforce legislation on a man growing wheat to feed his own livestock) one one the largest overreaches of the federal government over State rights and individual rights.
I don't even care about the abortion issue by itself but this kind of decisions are part of the slow stream leaking rights from the states and from the individuals into federal hands.
Today those hands are Trump's reasonably sized ones but they could as well be the wrinkly hands of Hillary Clinton.
