Yemen has been engulfed in a violent conflict between the government and Houthi rebels backed by army units loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh since 2015, with a coalition backed by Saudi Arabia launching an aerial operation in the country at the request of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

The problem with that is fighters consume the fuel from their wing and centerline (if fitted) tanks first and don't typically RTB with full external tanks because it's brutal on tires and landing gear.
When external tanks are jettisoned they are usually smashed on impact and don't usually ignite. Aluminum doesn't tend to spark on impact.
