German is a beautiful language,but Nietzsche certainly loved to write as complicated as possible to put as much information and meanings in one sentence that is becomes very very difficult to understand, German has four Grammar cases for each of the three sexes plus other rules that allow you to constantly create new and never seen before words plus a syntax allowing you to write literally unlimited sentences.

Rather read Spengler's Decline of the West and before it Nietzsche's Birth of tragedy. Faust is medieval german legend about guy who sold his soul to the devil for knowledge and it is most famous in Goethe's adaptation. Spengler used word faustian to describe spirit of wester civilisation in contrast with Apollonian antiquity (and several others). For him biggest difference between western - faustian and ancient apollonian was that apollonian was ahistorical, static while western is faustian, reaching toward more and more knowledge, to infinity. And while main artistic feature of the ancients were statues of west is classical music which float in space.

I would say that National Socialism is primarily two things, and is indeed not liberal. In another respect it is an Economic revolution, to get out of debt backed currency and to instead embrace state backed currency ... and not from printing money to pay off debts or flooding the market, but merely printing off just enough money to pay the people working for the Government, et al. This would ideally prevent enough currency from flooding the markets to cause inflation, while at the same time printing enough to keep the people of Germany well fed, productive, and able to have a bit of fun on the side.

Birth of tragedy here is important because it explain ''soul'' of civilisation. That said I can recomend to everyone Rudiger Safranski's books on Nietzsche and Heidegger, great and readable introductions for average reader.
