It's been a long day and I need a Sora no Woto thread

The promo art for the series looks great.

I only wish I could find the DVD Boxset with the art book anywhere for sale.

...

I can't find it even online so there's that.

When's the stream this year? Jan 1st or 7th or what?

There's a signed artbook with a message from the crew behind it, about how they wanted to make more out of it, but for now that's it, about how each character grown into more than the initial designs, etc.

Haha, I have it.

Here's an English ver.

Yes, and?

Good for you, I swear I'm not even jealous you little cunt.
>And I hope such a time does come...
Well shit, feels kind of bad knowing the changes for additional content being what they are.

Kishida is a god.

Is there anywhere legit where you can get the box-set? I'm guessing wishing for the art book is impossible, even the ones being sold seem somewhat low-quality and Amazon a shit

This is going to sound really sappy, but Sora no Woto is one of those few anime that changed me as a person after I watched it. ;_;

I just got the "lightbox" version from Amazon, its basically a dvd case with 4 DVDs in it. I really wanted it even though it doesn't have the artbook as I think once they are gone it might be done for good. At least it has the 2 OVAs though.

No wonder the anime flopped because it had keion designs instead of Kishida art.

You should watch Haibane Renmei next then. SnW definitely was influenced by it and I felt the same way you do after finishing it.

I'm the opposite. Sora no Woto didn't change me a single bit.
That's because it perfectly aligned with my existing world views already

If not for the sexual, this series could have rivaled Haibane Renmei in its tone and atmosphere. As it stands, though, it's still quite good.

>If not for the sexual
Just what do you think you're implying?

Too lewd for me. I wanted a bittersweet mood piece, not drunken fanservice.

bitches cant ban me!!!

How?

As that user said, on Amazon you can get just the DVDs, haven't checked on The Right Stuff, but damn, I want the artbook....

Well, generally I watch anime for mindless entertainment, but after I watched each episode, I would actually think about it and it had an affect on my mood for some time afterwards. Even now, just thinking about it is getting me all melancholic.

I agree, the fan service only takes away from what it could have been. That and the piss episode.

holy shit this is one of the best comfy small-scale "everything is shit but we'll be ok" anime ever

I love it

Sora no Woto did the K-On art style better than K-On.

K-On makes me want to punch something whenever I see it, it's so insufferably moe. Sora no Woto drew it better.

Wotos made it look good instead of puffy.

Modern Japan is such a dull and uninteresting place for a slice of life, we need more with interesting settings where the characters do things besides sit around and be moe.

But that's not "healing" enough for the otaku apparently.

see
Its much more of a drama than slice of life (or at least the second half is)

>everything is shit but we'll be ok
>nice senpais
>nice villagers
>nice scenery
>cool festivals
>the only thing that sucks is the armies being shitters, which got resolved later anyway
I'd rather live there.

Reminder Rio senpai pleased an old man for peace.

You can find places like that now, without the world ending desertification (so far). There are plenty of little towns in the middle of nowhere pretty places with generally nice people. They are usually just kind of boring.

They do the festival thing in Japan, but there are lots of places in the US and Europe that have random festivals too.

Did someone say sora no woto?

I doubt they'd let a dirty poor 3rd worlder immigrate there but okay.

Just go to your own villages, there's even more to find there.

I mean, ARIA is popular. People just aren't ambitions enough.

Kozue Amano had intensive knowledge about Venice to make it work, you either have to research a lot and/or have great imagination to make unusual settings interesting.
