It's like they say: No great nation is ever conquered until it has destroyed itself. If we weren't decadent, we would not be importing tons of foreigners. The Church offers us a path away from decadence, but people still need to choose to take that path. I hope the next Pope focuses more on re-evangelising Europe and the West, since few people actually know what the Church teaches
